Re: Mexico Vs Ulster KO 5.45pm BT Sport 3

All the best to those heading down to the game. Went to a few knock-out games in Dublin over the years Vs Leinster and they were all pretty miserable. I just hope we can take any chances that are on offer and give a good account of ourselves. Living in hope more than expectation but we do have playe...

Re: Six Nations 18/19

Discipline is key Vs Ireland. If you keep the penalty-count low then Ireland struggle to get any kind of field-position as there is not a lot of creativity there. England defused the aerial bombardment and had great line-speed and controlled aggression in the tackle. Smothered Ireland which is what ...

Re: Where’s Baggy????

Whilst he is super funny and in many ways is the soul of this forum, he routinely oversteps the mark and is a right d***head at times. I've no doubt he will be back. Slightly subdued for a while and then back to his antics until he gets another slap. I suspect he may currently be vacationing in NZ: ...

Re: Will he stay or will he go?

Whilst like Baggy I have little or no time for the IRFU, I do think and always have that Joe is indeed the second coming. His results and achievements speak for themselves. As an Ulster fan, I love the way he's stuck with Rory as captain. If Ireland stay clear of too many key injuries I think he has...

Re: The Complete Overreaction

Yeah, I'd say it was a bit of an over-reaction. Ireland have beaten NZ before - albeit once... But Ireland were building for this particular game and were at home. With home advantage, you should be beating pretty much anyone or at least be within one score. In saying that, I didn't think they would...

Re: November test matches

One last point from me... I thought it was pretty brave of Joe to use the bench the way he did. Took some big names off and had to bring on guys that were maybe 3rd choice in some instances. Says a lot about the coach and also the players in the squad. Most sides crumble in the last 20 mins V NZ but...

Re: November test matches

Wonderful, wonderful test match. I thought Barnes was very good. He allowed a contest and a contest is what we saw. High intensity, tough rugby. Ireland were quite simply immense. Never took a step backwards and Joe's decision to start with big Toner was a belter. Securing set-piece ball was key to ...

Re: November test matches

Interesting to see how Joe plays this one. Ideally, he would have used Murray to pin NZ back and chase hard with the box kicks. Is that now out the window with no Murray? Other option is to hold onto the ball and use the pack to carry a lot of ball into contact. Certainly there are some fantastic ca...

Re: November test matches

I had high hopes for Ireland in this game but just too many injuries and too many average backs. Irish pack looks decent and at home they should have their tails up so that should keep Ireland in the game to about 60 mins. If NZ get off to a good start it could be a long evening. I'd expect Ireland ...

Re: November test matches

Firstly, Ireland's performance against Argentina means nothing, nada, zilch. It was just a hit-out for the game Joe has been building to for a while now. Unfortunately for Joe et al., a few key injuries will test Ireland to the core. I had placed a few bets with work colleagues that Ireland would wi...

Re: Rugby Championship

Wonderful test match. Boks starting to look the business and have some cracking young players coming through. Ritchie Mounga could be the AB 10 come the world cup. Looks a player.

Re: Munster V Ulster Sat 29th Sept 7:15

I actually feel sorry for Stockdale and Henderson. Quality players in a festering pile of turd. Once the RWC is over, anyone with an ounce of ambition should be off to England or France.

Re: Munster V Ulster Sat 29th Sept 7:15

Haven't seen much of Ulster this season so looking forward to see how the go in a tough-looking game. Expectations from me are low so hopefully I am pleasantly surprised.
