Re: John Afoa

Oh FFS catch yourself on. There is a tiny proportion of the Ulster fan base read the shyte written here never mind the rugby players of other nations. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: That is something so stupid that even Againstallreason wouldn't post it. Really? I thought a few of the younger rug...

Re: John Afoa

So much nonsense talked about John's motivations and his wife's views of Northern Ireland. Almost all of them wildly off the mark. He has done nothing but be 100% committed to the shirt and will continue to be until the end of the season. He is a decent guy whose family is very important to him and ...

Re: Jack McGrath

This isn't about forcing players to go anywhere they don't want to, it's about money as it always is. Boss left Ulster because the IRFU cut his central contract - months before RP was confirmed. Bowe left because EOS didn't rate him and so he couldn't command the additional endorsements that propel ...

Young fella Jackson against ospreys some weeks ago iirc
Thanks IL - for some reason I thought he missed one in that game. The irony is that they were both known as running flyhalves when they were at school!

Re: Stand up for James McKinney

Great game from JMcK, but he did look nervous in the first quarter. As the game went on his confidence grew. His passing is crisp and accurate and he looks to have a lot more about him than NOC so that's a start!

Re: Scarlets positives/negatives!

Totally agree ATH. The 'journeymen' Thomas and Owen out-kicked Pienaar and Payne, and that was the deciding factor. The Ulster pack were out-mauled and the Scarlets scored their try from that but otherwise the pack were not shamed. With so many missing Ulster needed their 'Big Names' to stand up and...

Re: Scarlets positives/negatives!

McIlwaine was unlucky. He thought that Nick had made the tackle and he was just going for the ball on his feet, obviously he thought AR was talking to Williams not him. The brainless yellow belonged to Wilson and was far more injurious to Ulster. Farrell was better than he had been by virtue that he...

Re: HAS THE GINGER PRINCE TURNED A CORNER?

Paddy will be a great flyhalf because he can read the game (something Madigan can't do), but needs more experience when plans don't work. He's a pro-active game planner, but loses his focus if he's having to be reactive instead. That will come with dealing with unexpected opposition more often. The ...

Re: Paddy Jackson

The decision to take the kick was unquestionably right. The problem was Ulster should have been already two scores in front after their dominance - that was where the bad decision was made. Far too often Ulster are in the red zone and don't score. Paddy or Luke should have already had a DG attempt w...

I could have sworn Muller was playing against the Dragons.

Re: Humphreys

Firstly I have an awful lot of time for Logan. He is steering Ulster to be the BEST rugby team in Europe - on and off the pitch. The initiatives to take rugby into schools and also bring schoolkids to Ravenhill are both ambitious and more importantly working. Ulster now have the best gym facilities ...

Re: Who was your ULSTER MOTM v Glasgow?

Surprised Porter is getting so much kudos. He was a curates egg for me - he threw more hi-lo passes than I've seen before from him and his box kicking was a mixture, with the one conceding the penalty being the worst. He put in one great touch finder though. I actually though Marshall looked better ...

It is annoying that it wasn't a sell out after all - I'd certainly have gone if they had tickets at the gate.

Thanks to the guys providing match commentaries, it's a bit too soon to judge players but it's hard to be informative if you don't! It's good to hear McCall did well, he is a prospect.

Re: Edinburgh v Ulster

Paddy Jackson is an outstanding talent and will be an great flyhalf. This is his first season of pro rugby as first choice 10, which is exceptional for a 20/21 year old. It was Humphreys who decided to make him first choice knowing that he was unproven and would be inconsistent, so when PJ proves to...
