Re: Team v Bath

IHB that the selection is more an indictation of how BMAC sees Bath trying to play against Ulster ie with their forwards close to ruck and maul similiarly it could reflect that Ulster are not expected to have a predominance of possession and field position IH would be the ideal choice if Ulster were...

Re: GOOD LUCK ULSTERRRRRR!

Only when the wind blows down the pitch at Ravenhill Capt As stated previously in a wind affected game playing against the wind in the first half is always an advantage ( your tactical approach has been decided before the kickoff and the pressure is on the team playing with the wind to put points on...

Re: 70 weeks for Attoub

Why go to the French courts He could before a British Court for assault It is not as if the two players had a difference of opinion ie both were involved it is an unprevoked assault whick could have serious outcome. I doubt if rugby reaaly want to go down that route but if the French don't understan...

Re: Ireland squad for 6 Nations

It therefore would appear that Kidney is trying to create a World Cup squad of some 36 --40 players given that at least 6 of those in the panel won't be included in such a squad Sorry to see Cave is not included but then the squad will be based Limerick for a week and some will be the tackle bag hol...

Re: Sad news

Sky could use a commentator like him -- he never exceeded his quota of superlatives - was never guilty of" total tunnel vision" -- never over stepped the verbage -- the current bunch of commentators rabbit rubbish endlessly are so bias and anyone who has appeared in an England shirt is the greatest ...

Re: Bath v Ulsterrrrrrrr

I don't consider it is giving up but a realistic view of the possible to qualify for the ERC Ulster must win with a bonus and Edinburgh must deny Stade a bonus to qualify both must occur -- a win a Bath is possible-- a big win given Ulster's record away from home --- I 'll settle for the win

Re: Nine sign for Ulster

Red hand I don't know who watching but its not Caldwell "red gag and losin it" Harrison like I doubt it Caldwell's problem is he is to recognisable on the pitch and some refs watch players not the game thus if he goes off the feet in a ruck he gets blown. But like Cullen a year or two elsewhere migh...

Re: Positives & Negatives: Ulster V Embra

Given the wind and the fact it was his first kick-- the kick for touch was only a foot to far from being a reaaly good kick my criticism of it would be the kick fell between two stones ie the angle was to flat to be a kick for the corner and to great to be what I think was meant to be a cross field ...

Re: Positives & Negatives: Ulster V Embra

I don't think Boss actually deserved the MOTM ( and I am and Have been a defender of Boss when he was taking stick on this board ) for the simple reason some of his passing last night was a bit wayward by Boss standards a few to many at head and shoulder height -- that said I will admit his distribu...

Re: Wolfhounds at Ravers

Personally I would prefer a different name for as previously stated the original Wolfhounds were invitational and had a charity ethos playing exhibition rugby rather than must win -- it was a sporting team in the truest sense of the word.

Re: Positives & Negatives: Ulster V Embra

Very happy we won the toss and played the best 40 mins defensive rugby of the season in the first half I have said before you never want to play with the wind in the first half . Ulster had to win and keep possession and frustrate Edinbiurgh for 40 mins and did that task well -- Edinburgh needed at ...

Re: Ulster v Edinburgh

kicking from hand -the fact is there is very little difference between NoC and IH -- where IH has the edge is the passing game because IH is quicker off the mark and over the first 5-10 metres and his reactions are possibly faster NoC s greatest weakness is his inconsisent goal kicking which is at b...
