Re: Ulster's finances
So football won’t go there, and rugby doesn’t need to go there…..maybe except for artificially set up matches. So GAA are probably the sole users…….and therefore the sole financiers. Imagine the Treasury in London deciding whether we put 200 million into the GB health service, education, controllin...

Re: Dragons Pre Match Q&A with Jonny Petrie
And why during this same period did Ulster Rugby purchase a domestic house on Ravenhill Park (which remains vacant to this day) for £490,000 plus without mortgage ?????? Is that where big JTA stayed? He walked out home every night with the great unwashed. Yes one and same been lying vacant since he...

Re: Bryn Cunningham in the Daily Telegraph - stop thinking about winning
Unless mistaken the Salary Cap for English Clubs is £5M whilst our cost last year was £6.5M not sure what Scotland and Wales or though I suspect it is lower … is it not just the French that have the financial weight and I don’t know about the Saffers…

Re: Dragons Pre Match Q&A with Jonny Petrie
Why if we're so broke did you sign off on the expense of a plastic pitch? Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk Because D4 payed for it in full… Well they funded it with a loan - whether it’s a loan we have to pay back, or a ‘Munster loan’ remains to be seen! My understanding was it wasn’t being repa...

Re: Ulster's finances
One wonders how they believed they could afford Kitshoff. Maybe they will sell the “investment property” to help fund his wages, as they have little cash left £1.3m (£2.4m, a year previously) & given another deficit (a further large one likely) forecast (accounts say so) this year suggesting po...

Re: Dragons Pre Match Q&A with Jonny Petrie
Who at Ulster Rugby was at fault for the debacle v LaRochelle? Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk And does he think fans are stupid enough to believe the monetary loss of one fixture has left Ulster in complete financial ruin. Ferris said on the Viaplay URC podcast the other day that apparently th...

Re: Football at Ravenhill?
I see there is a piece in the local rag (Bel Tel) that Glentoran are exploring the possibility of asking the Irish FA to consider Ravenhill as the venue for the big two Irish Cup Semi Final at the end of March. The only Irish League venue which would be of sufficient size is Windsor Park so Linfiel...

Re: Football at Ravenhill?
I think the post originated from a supporters blog and may have been a bit of stirring... my understanding was the stadium is not suitable as football requires segregated ends etc through turnstiles etc that are disconnected as such. The stadium is open to all events now including concerns etc and t...

Re: Dan’s Not the Man.
One could be forgiven for thinking that Gilroy was also possibly involved in the rumours of discontent in the dressing room. I’d be interested to learn how much the little weasel trousered for the ten tries he scored in his last five seasons at Ulster. If he hated Dan that much, or had any ambition...

Re: Dan’s Not the Man.
Judging contract extensions is always tricky and easy to look at with hindsight. Lots of people slate ulster for getting rid of mcglock after a European final but the decision was taken much earlier in the season, when ulster's league form was dire and from memory had lost at home to Treviso. It wa...
