Re: Stand up fer the Ulstermen in London

And there will be regular updates on www.ursc.co throughout the season on the social antics of those far away from home.

Thanks guys, for arranging this. Just remember, no rude stuff....we know where you live.

Re: Stewarding at Ravenhill

Thanks Pimpmac - just about sums up the situation as far as I understand it to be, as explained at our recent meeting with UR and Eventsec.

I have never had any real issues with the stewards. Mind you I tend to arrive at the last minute, bedecked with flags....

Re: Overseas Supporters

I will get some stuff over to you Mike. The fit controller has been asking us how we might organise something for you guys. Certainly URSC would like to help, even though we are stretched, resource wise, over here. I'll pm you later today with some ideas on how we can develop things. Very happy to ...

Groovy baby - I'll buy it, then cut it up for bandanas......but then for a grumpy old man I'm real cool.

Re: Stewarding at Ravenhill

BR,

You point about one way systems versus two way is a valid one.

The proposal for designated access points is one of a number of strategies aimed at addressing planning issues and residents concerns over the redeveloped stadium, old bats permitting......

Re: Stewarding at Ravenhill

BR, I'm not missing your point - I accept it. But the concept of split ticketing is offered as an alternative to terrace phasing. That way the congestion on the walkway will be less likely 'cos the punters will be arriving from both ends at once, with congestion occurring at both ends and not just ...

Re: Stewarding at Ravenhill

Rooster,

And it suits the great unwashed of East Belfast who can still follow their traditional route along Ladas Drive to the terrace.

Re: Stewarding at Ravenhill

BR, May I elaborate? ST's would gain access to the Terrace at the current point. All tickets sold for the Terrace would clearly state the point of access. That way there is no confusion. For example, red ticket equals Memorial end, blue ticket equals Aquinas end. This type of control is common plac...

Re: Stewarding at Ravenhill

There is no statutory requirement for phased filling of the terrace. Filling from both ends is a good concept, however most of us will prefer to take the most direct, (shortest) route. Maybe UR could allow all ST holders direct access, plus a number with match tickets? Remaining match tickets would...

Re: Stewarding at Ravenhill

Point of information: UR have reduced the number of tickets sold on the terrace by a few hundred. This was in response to the Munster effect. Management felt it was better to be seen to be doing something about it rather than risk a more stringent reaction from BCC. Bear in mind that once capacity ...

Re: Stewarding at Ravenhill

I have previously suggested that a portion of terracing at the Aquinas end, perhaps the first two barriers, be reserved for kids (and small URSC committee members........)

I shall do so again.

Re: Stewarding at Ravenhill

Thanks guys and gals,

Some very good points here which will be brought to UR attention tomorrow.

As to what room for manoeuvre they have, in light of BCC's strangle hold over enforcing soccer style legislation, remains to be seen.
