Re: Petrie departs…..

Hotpoint being the brand of the fridge freezer that had an electrical fault causing the fire in Grenfell.

Also the largest supplier of domestic appliances in the UK.....

Re: Stormers v Ulster Saturday March 30th 5:15pm Viaplay Sports

The stormers weren't that bad. Very robust and physical in defence. They were not there for the taking. It was a huge effort to keep the game so close. Their attack didn't click but they did have the luxury of bringing on quality players. We swapped the Rea bros, ffs. We only have one current inter...

Re: Petrie departs…..

I don't want them sponsored by Shell or BP either thanks. Grenfell was less than 7yrs ago, hardly comparable to VW and the Nazis. Kingspan are complicit in the death of nearly 100 people. They bodged their fire safety tests and saw it as an internal 'joke'. Players have been sacked for less. Maybe ...

Re: Stormers v Ulster Saturday March 30th 5:15pm Viaplay Sports

The Stormers were loose and erratic because they were put under pressure. We weren't great either but what we did have was heart and attitude in abundance something severely lacking this season. Yesterday was a step in the right direction. Felt like a win in some ways. Corner turned, no. Can we now ...

Re: Petrie departs…..

Also - There are several intriguing candidates who could be in the mix, such as the likes of former winger Andrew Trimble who has just sold his sports tech business, Kairos, to an American investor for a reported £15m and has a razor-sharp business acumen. Ex-flanker Matt McCullough is now a Managi...

Re: Petrie departs…..

IRFU bail out incoming. Never going to be handed out while Petrie still in position to oversee more squandering.

Now.... where the feck is BO'D when you need him to call Ulster a basket case. Reset button complete.

Re: Dragons Pre Match Q&A with Jonny Petrie

It's a fair point Bart, I think last night with Dan gone wasn't a gimme, we just wanted to ensure the win.

We've still a shot at top 4 and a home QF which is needed for the bank account.

Its a £2mil deficit at present. I don't hear much but that came from within.

Re: Dragons Pre Match Q&A with Jonny Petrie

On VAT I would very much like to know what he’s talking about - apart from anything VAT is levied in Ireland as well. I’m not an expert on VAT in the south but struggle to see why Ulster should be at any meaningful disadvantage. In the UK VAT will be due on the full selling price of tickets sold at...

Re: Dragons Pre Match Q&A with Jonny Petrie

Petrie seems "confident" Ulster will have a competitive side next season. If all of the departures are as suggested elsewhere then hard to see how unless he expects the youngsters to immediately step up to be seasoned pros or a Lazarus like recovery in form by everyone who is currently be...

Re: 6 Nations 2024

Should Italy have been allowed to retake that last penalty  and the French marched 10 metres? French twice encroached on the 10 metres before Garbisi took the penalty. The opposing team may not do anything to delay the kick or obstruct the kicker, including intentionally taking, throwing or...

Re: Dragons Pre Match Q&A with Jonny Petrie

Funny how Burns suddenly becomes everybody’s favourite just as he’s emptying out his locker. You’re forgetting that Munster couldn’t afford to offer their WC winner a contract. Until this week, they couldn’t even afford to offer the Ireland captain a contract. Whatever your opinion on Burns, even S...

Re: Dragons Pre Match Q&A with Jonny Petrie

I mean it can only be Ulster fans that can be drunk off about signing a dual WC winner in their prime right? If it leads to having to dump players all over the place as a result then yeah! If there had have been any medium term financial planning we would never have signed him. I’m all for dumping ...
