It was very Benny Hill.

I was expecting half a dozen sexy nurses or French maids to run across the gardens chased by a wee baldy bloke.

Re: Who remembers D-day?

My main memory coming out of D-Day was the amusements in Bangor who, rather than change over all their slot machines, would exchange new pennies for old ones as you went in.

No doubt the 'exchange rate' worked greatly in their favour too but I'm too young to remember that bit.

Re: What are you drinking?

It’s great to see all these new breweries taking off BUT, to my taste, about two thirds of it is massively over-hopped. I find that licking a bar of soap and downing a shot of vodka achieves a similar effect, although I’m a bit sick of getting hairs in my mouth. When proper drinking can resume, whe...

Re: What are you drinking?

Fast approaching the end of my craft beer Advent calender from Flavourly.com but stocking up on some local ales for the festive season. Mourne Mountains Brewery in Warrenpoint produce some lovely potent beers (the ales are great) and the cans are works of art too with nice scenic photos of the Mourn...

Re: Ulster v Benetton Friday October 2nd 8:15pm KO

It will be interesting to see if Lowry gets a shot at starting at 10 after his last performance.

Sure if he's going to be trusted with the 10 shirt a match against Benetton is an ideal one to start with.

Re: What are you drinking?

Who decreed that it should be 1:3? Was it on one of the tablets that Moses dropped on his way down rhe mountain?
Moses probably went with a 1:1 ratio and that's why he dropped the tablets.

Re: What are you drinking?

Currently enjoying a large glass of Titanic Gin and Fevertree Tonic. Very nice it is too.

It's a nice alternative to Bombay or Tanqueray my usual choices.

I still can't understand that Fevertree advert where they say the tonic makes up 75% of the drink

Re: What are you watching?

Crossing Lines is a decent watch. A special police unit under the International Criminal Court investigate crimes that cross international borders. The squad is a mix of officers from various countries, including a former PSNI one. I watched on Ch4 (or maybe 5) but I believe it's on Netflix...

Under 20s game is excellent. 7-29 at half time (bonus point in the bag)

Ireland really looking the part and the Ulster lads are looking good.

Re: Ospreys v Ulster Sat Feb 15

Why on earth attempt a drop goal in those conditions.
Should have held on to the ball and hoped for an Ospreys mistake to let us in or a penalty which would have been a lot more kickable.

Ruan came off the bench but at that stage couldn't make any difference to the result.
