Re: Contract Situation

Why, where will Henderson, Ewers and o’toole be playing at?

That’s not a disastrous pack by any means.

Re: Leinster shithousery - Tom OToole

Every time TOT comes on for Ireland I watch the first few scrums from behind the sofa, only to find that he rarely lets the side down. While for us he has had his behind handed to him on a number of occasions. Coaching? Application? Rest of pack? I think it’s part coaching, part Stewart being a wea...

Re: Contract Situation

If they told you before you looked elsewhere that they didn’t need you anymore then, yes, they were.

And if they wanted to keep him they’d still have made an offer of some sort. He had no contract on the table from Ulster and went looking elsewhere.

Re: Contract Situation

Billy may be keen to explore other options, but if he’s not being offered an Ulster contract of any sort, then he’s not being offered a contract.

If Ulster wanted to keep him, they’d have offered him some sort of deal.
Can’t be spun any other way.

Re: Billy Burns offski?

On Munsterfans the reaction seems quite mixed but a good few thinking its a positive move with BB signed as a back up 10. So in the spirit of Ulster rugby we can expect the deal to go through and BB proceeds to play the best rugby of his career and perhaps be part of a team that wins some silverwar...

Re: Contract Situation

If we plan on using Doak as Burns replacement we are in big, big trouble. Why? Because Doak has almost no experience as a professional 10 and our other 10 is Flannery. If Ulster do see Doak as a 10 why haven't they invested more time in him there? Playing there for the last few mins of games after ...

justinr73 wrote: Tue Jan 30, 2024 10:42 am Well yes, as per the contract thread.

He isn’t on the Ireland radar, isn’t on anyone’s Christmas card list, is probably appalled by the Stormont fiasco and could earn more elsewhere….
Unfortunately for him, he never got offered an Ulster contract, so he didn’t have much say in the matter!!!

Re: Dan’s Not the Man.

How will ROG have first refusal over it? 12 months makes a helluva difference, never mind 4 years until after the next World Cup. Humphrey’s will have a massive say in who the next Irish head coach will be. If he gives McCall the incentive to come home to Ulster, do a good job and be within a huge c...

Re: Dan’s Not the Man.

Lowry is barely URC standard this season. Moore is probably the better fullback.

11. Stockdale
14. Addison
15. Moore

Would be a better back 3 than the one selected last weekend. Baloucoune and Lowry have been atrocious.

Since when was this on Viaplay?

Will all challenge cup knockout matches be on this platform or will TNT take over the latter stages?

Re: Harlequins v Ulster Sat Jan 20 1pm KO TNT Sports 2

Could we make a defensive full back out of Doak? He is never going to be top quality at N 9 but his place kicking would we worth having. Move him to 10 and keep him there. I agree he’s not going to be a top class 9. Not snappy enough, but could be a very good 10. It’ll take a strong minded coach to...

Re: Harlequins v Ulster Sat Jan 20 1pm KO TNT Sports 2

I wouldn’t trust this squad of putting 2 quality performances together, nevermind 4. A big pack, a 10 with a decent boot, and 2 solid centres are enough to beat this squad most times especially away from home, and that is what you get against the French. If we made the last 4 I’d be amazed. Agree 1...

Re: Dan’s Not the Man.

Cunningham is the man behind it. I can't help but feel his hands are tied too though. It seems we haven't got a pot to pi$$ in, added to the fact that we're a basket case to outsiders, plus the IRFU restrictions around player management (albeit with fewer and fewer players this applies to) and rest...
