Re: New Coach

Maybe what is taking soloing is they are cloning Gibbs, his duplicate is still in the vat. Our chances of getting a good coach might be more to do with the IRFU pushing for one to reverse the rot that has set in here. Its a shame Gibbs has to leave as the team is starting to perform again. I think G...

Re: Who will decide

I see where you are coming from but you make a fundamental error. This case was not a "she says, he says", it turned on what the only eye witness heard, saw and testified to. That podcast was discussed here, yesterday. It's a really good piece. There is without any doubt, a very real issu...

Re: Who will decide

The real problem here is its so emotive there isn't much room for nuanced discussion - he turns into either you believe him or you believe her, the other side being the devil incarnate. There is a need to discuss and tackle consent -for both men and women to reduce the chances of these things happen...

Re: Contract situation

Just to mention Zack Ward made the bench for the A team in their last friendly against Munster [which Ulster won] so he's definitely on the radar. Hopefully he gets more chances. There certinly seems to be a fair crop of back rowers coming through with Hall, Agnew and McCartney at 7, Jones, Rea jr, ...

Re: Any word on the Academy?

7 Ulster players starting with 2 more on the bench- Dunleavy getting a start at 6, Dalton is back in at Lock, Agnew continues at 7 and O'Toole starts at tighthead. Keane and Kernohan start on each wing with Curtis at 12, Stewart and Hume are on the bench. Ireland U20 v Scotland U20, U20 Six Champion...

Re: Any word on the Academy?

Yeah I don't get why Stewart is held so high. I thought Curtis looked very good at 12, Hume had a few class touches but was a bit of in defence- not surprising given it was his 2nd game back after injury. I don't know enough about forward play but Agnew seemed to do well at 7, some good carries, got...

Re: Ulster v Edinburgh Friday 16th Feb 7:35pm BBC2NI

Dalton must be gash if he’s been overlooked for Sean Diesel. Dalton wasn't great for under 20's in the first match as a 6, he is a young guy and Edinburgh will be a very very physical game. Plus Dalton is a lock - hence he didn't look good at 6,was hoping Jones might have made a reappearance but ma...

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!

I'm prepared to give the underperforming NIQs another shot (they will be delighted to know) with Jonno in full control. It's a fresh start. Hond and Jean have 8 matches to ensure they're still playing next season Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk Nah- I'd rather Rea and O'Hagan got game time ahe...

Re: FOLK

Allen Clarke , new interim head coach of Ospreys, forward thinking there. I'd say were we are now is a large part due to the aftermath of that bloke- an academy that didn't produce [especially forwards] , forwards that didn't develop, a soft pack and the legacy of a toxic coaching ticket. Or maybe ...

Re: Wasps Vs Ulster Sun 21/01/18 BT Sport

I'm happy that Rea is getting a chance over Deysel, although after last week he deserves to be starting. On the other hand in the Munster game he brought a lot of energy off the bench. Good to see Lyttle make the bench as well, I had expected it to be Trimble. Between that and the A side they really...

Re: Ulsterboys V The Munstermen

Points of note: I thought CL was heroic last night, he was absolutely crunched my hits from Munster, several late, he was never going off and I think that was his best performance, FFFS he even managed a few superb line kicks. Not just the try saver but I think McCluskey was as good in defence as I...

Re: Ulsterboys V The Munstermen

First half was shocking. Thought the young back row did well in the second half- Rea coming on looked good which was encouraging and the backs looked dangerous when they finally got the ball. But that first half... The whole bloody thing was shocking. We were playing Munster seconds and it took the...
