Re: Positives & Negatives Ulster V Leeds

So much better all round. In open play I thought our forwards bullied Leeds, Best and Ferris I think were out to impress Decci in the old stand. The backs had a better night due to quicker ball and Porter compared to the bath match seemed to be in better communication with all around him. Only main ...

Re: Quins v Ulster match thread

Just thought I would mention that with our pre-season not going so well, We are not alone (Ospreys 14-24 Gloucester). Both Munster & leinster went down at home! here's hoping that it will all work out in the end! (Please God, Budda anyone who can help) :red:

Re: Starting xv

DC can't wait to see Diack @ 6 doing the ground work of a Lewis Moody or the like, anyway I just wanted to add everyone is going for RP @ 9 and we don'y know how he will gel, fit etc. This only tells me how much faith we have in the other two 9's we have in totally overlooking them. If we had Boss s...

Re: Womens RWC

Watched the match from 7 - 0. The ireland pack were 5 metres out several times in the second half and everytime went to the backs who spilt it or turned it over. Other than not finnishing and the missed tackles it could have been very different for the girls. Lets hope they can be more ruthless next...

Re: Leinster thread 2010/11

I have to say that it made me feel good to see the results for leinster/Munster tonight. Felt a bit for Issac (Paul O’Donohoe replaced by Isaac Boss, half-time). Does this mean he is 3rd choice in the BLUE behind Reddan & O'Donohoe. Anyway having seen Wasps last season it makes me think that Bat...

Re: Bath match

Just home from the match, on the way out spoke with Humph Snr who was with Logan, all smiles and content, told me not to read to much into this friendly (didnt make me feel any happier though!) Thought the defence at times was awful. Few quick ones, I actually thought Muller was knackered after 20mi...

Re: New full back on a two week trial

It really looks that Humph Snr & Co are serious big time, about making it this season. Good to see. Feel gutted for Bryn who has been one of my favourites since becoming a follower. Now leaving for the match and what I hope will be a great start to the 2010/11 season.

C'mon ULSTER!!!

Re: Those cursed stirrings of pre-season optimism...

Bootlaced Not meaning to be to cheeky, but you should have went to Specsavers. Note the date of Big Al's post (Thu Aug 06, 2009 7:35 pm ) Big Ed just might have still been here. Anyway for anyone reading my depressed posts on the bath match thread the other night, my only excuss is it was the drink ...

Re: Bath match

I mean that we still have Wallace, Whitten, Cave and McCrea fit & maybe Smith @ F/B but who is fully slr that we don't know about who is fit for duty, what cover do we really have for three friendlies and an opening Magners Match in the backline? lets hope that Spence, Gilroy and Marshall, Seymo...

Re: Bath match

The reality is that we are going to see a second string backline (due to injury) that will either fold or stand up and be counted for the 2010/11 season. I can only pray that the children of Ulster Rugby will have enough!!!! It is from the number 9-15 position is the worry for me? The forwards will ...

Just into the hotel from the game.Thought Marshall & Gilroy outstanding. Nearly felt sad for Munster & Conacht by the end. A total onslaught from start to finnish!!!

Re: Ruan Pienaar

Having read much about Ruan on different threads, I was much dissappointed to see him take over the kicking duties against Australia yesterday only to miss both attempts. Didnt impress at all!! (Kicking only)

Re: Cillian Willis signs for Connacht

Agree totally, Willis was a much more balanced player than Marshall and quicker with it, can only assume that UR intend to show us more of Porter this season?

And a short missed put on 17 after a fantastic approach (lets hope he can keep the putter white hot and the driver long & straight!)
