Re: Richie Murphy - right man for the job?

The trip to SA was disappointing, given that we’d won our six previous Saffer encounters. The Challenge Cup campaign went how I expected over the two games (although I wasn’t necessarily thinking we’d leak another fifty…) I’d like to believe that Murphy has been given a clear bottom line of finishi...

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!

If the irfu are happy for 4 out of 5 outhalfs to sit in leinster and it not affect their international chances, then they must allow ulster to sign a ten. It is too important a position to be hoping someone will work out. Cooney has perhaps one or two seasons left, doak could have nailed down the 9...

Re: The Decline of Ferris

Who wins what? Trophies?

Answer: neither of them

If the current team could also have 4 NIQ's including 3 world cup winners and 3 out of 4 in the pack they would be doing better

Maybe time to restart the Positives and Negatives post match thread.

Positives - Ulster rugby has a hitherto unknown Turnover King

Negatives - everything else.

Re: Clermont v Ulster, Saturday April 13 12:30pm (UK Time) TNT Sports - Actual Channel TBC

The reality is that without SK and Hendy, our pack on paper does not have what it takes to beat up a French pack. The only way we managed to do it last week with those 2 was because Montpellier's pack lost its collective mind. So I agree with Big-Al, let the young bucks make a name for themselves. ...

Re: Luke retiring at the end of the season

Top player. Warrior indeed. I remember some games during the Les Kiss era where he was literally ulster's sole competent defender . Like Andrew Trimble he always gave it his all, good days or bad. Wish him an injury free happy next stage of his life. Thanks for the memories , passion and commitment ...

Re: Teflon Man

It’s also not true that we are producing no players. The majority of our pack is now home grown, or at least a respectable pack could be put out with a good home grown contingent. Warwick, Stewart, O’Toole, Hendo, Sheridan, Rea Jr, McCann, Rea Sr Granted there are some problems there, primarily at ...

Re: Contract Situation

I seem to recall the late Johnny Petrie saying shortly before his departure that next season's squad would be at least as strong as this season's. Without any further additions and with rumoured departures, this is a stretch even for him. Unless he meant this would be achieved by actually playing Sh...

Leinster La Rochelle, will Leinster get that monkey of their back or will ROG still live rent free in their heads..... Yes Leinster beat them in the pool stage, but knockout game is a different kettle of fish. Leicester showed tonight that leinster can be got at. I expect LRog to have the pack to d...

Re: Contract Situation

I might be in a minority of one, but if we need numbers at loosehead, we could do worse than Kyle McCall if he was interested. Currently the Hinch captain, where hes been mainly playing TH I think, one of our own for a wee bit of cover? Isn't another ulster legend, Schalk "Hond" Van der M...
