Re: Leinster 2013/14

Just watched the Leinster reserves beat the Dragons in a pretty dire game of rugby. The Dragons had their chances to put it away but were too sloppy to manage it. Good game from Rhys Ruddock and several academy lads got a taste of the Rabo. Luke Fitz is definitely not the future of Leinster or Irela...

Re: Autumn International Squad

He isn't near the previous generation of Munster back rowers (Quinlan, Wallace, Foley). When in the name of Christ are you from? The 40's? I mean, even Leamy has happened since then... With the exception of Wallace, that is a backrow full of people who will be remembered for things other than what ...

Re: Scaalets vs Ulster

Gilroy out Gilroy seems to be increasingly injury prone. You have to feel sorry for the lad. He burst onto the scene last season and at one point was even touted for a Lions slot. A continued string of injuries will not do his Ulster/Ireland prospects any good and even when fully fit he has the cha...

S4C aka Taffie tv BBC website or S4/C. Not on BBC 2. Ah, ballix. Pretty sure I can't get that S4C thing here and don't think you can watch on the BBC website ouside the UK? There goes my excuse to avoid Saturday shopping. :banghead: Crouch. You can usually get the Ulster games streamed ...

Re: DOES ANYONE CARE IF DARREN CAVE LEAVES ULSTER?

Payne prefers 13 is a myth that was started by some on here just after it was announced we had signed him. He spent his final year in S15 filling in (and doing a hell of a job) after a few injuries in the side. Before this he captained Northland from 15 and played the rest of his rugby here. When h...

Re: Scaalets vs Ulster

I was banned after 2 posts saying Rhys Priestland wasn't very good Well you shouldn't post such rubbish - It's offensive to normal rugby-loving folk.. Remember, a fit RP would've been the eleventh series-winning Welsh British&Irish Lion. Gatland absolutely loves the man >clapping Watch-out for ...

Re: Olding

Stuart Olding is certainly a very talented and versatile player and as such is of huge value to a match day squad in the options that allows. With Paddy and Luke away for the next few weeks I think we could well see that versatility deployed. He came into the squad as a 10 and I think that is the m...

Re: Positives&Negs: Ulster V Cardiff

Just watched the game back, Halfpenny did miss one. Warburton was utterly anonymous, you can't even say he was doing the unseen work, his name was mentioned twice by Gusher the whole match, once as the 'go to' man at the line out & once for conceding a penalty. I'm a Halfpenny fan, it's just su...

Re: Warren Gatland.

Gatland: Not satisfied with his summer performance he's started spewing brad pitt again this week. First he accuses Keith Wood of being selfish for criticising his BOD selection decision before displaying rank hypocrisy by announcing he only picked Farrell as a Lions coach to get an insight into En...

Re: DOES ANYONE CARE IF DARREN CAVE LEAVES ULSTER?

What's happening to DC at the minute is nothing short of disgraceful. It has long since been apparent' at least to everyone outside his own head, that Earls is a good winger but crap at 13. It is also abundantly clear that Fitzgerald is merely competent at 13 and no Drico replacement. Meanwhile the...

Wanted to see Connacht win that one but disappointed with their conservative tactics. Don't think they tried to run it wide once. Talk up Henshaw all you want but he won't do much if he never gets a pass.

Re: Leinster 2013/14

The highlight of the first half - Leinster hooker Cronin gassing Westies wing O'Halloran out wide! Leinster looking quite ordinary.

Re: Positives&Negs: Ulster V Cardiff

Negative: one of my favourite players, young Olding being talked up as a 15. The fact that very few realise that his best work generally came from breakdowns where he naturally positioned himself at 12 and on those occasions he made hay. He is a 12 every hour of every day. If you don't believe me w...
