Re: Autumn International squad
I think the HIA is red herring. JS left the field with a knock to the head. He was rightly replaced. It was not a tactical substitution as the black captain was suggesting. An actual HIA was probably unnecessary. I have been directed to a head clash with Savea approximately 2 mins before the sub. I...

Re: Cricket season
A very bad day for cricket today with the Rafiq parliamentary enquiry. Yorkshire in dire straits and promoting the game to youngsters and families will be very difficult. What happened was terrible and the way Yorkshire handled it shows what some of the influential people there thought about it. I ...

Re: Autumn International squad
Sounds like a daft law if it exists. That rule is for comps that allow rolling subs. It makes sense that you cannot sub a player on to take a kick. IRB have been fudging this one for years. Maybe now they will clarify it properly, but I continue to both inhale and exhale. That would make more sense...

Re: Autumn International squad
 Surely Carbery could take the kick irrespective of whether it was HIA, injury or tactical. Or is there some bizarre law that needs changing? See my response above. Competition Regulation brought in by some unions to prevent American football-like bringing on of specialists kickers etc esp...

Re: Autumn International squad
Sexton injured again. Yep - his HIA identified concussion of the lower leg. His ankle and knee are now following return to play protocols. There should be implications for teams abusing the HIA protocols. They're doing exactly what Dean Richards did with the fake blood capsule. Whoever lied to the ...

Re: Autumn International squad
Maybe I was overharsh on the Ireland team but I still have to ask the question: can they do this in a RWC quarterfinal? Over decades they have simply failed to deliver when the chips are down. The short answer is probably no. Ireland were fresh, up for it and at home. The ABs were away from home on...

Re: Autumn International squad
Back to the overall performance on this thread. If Ulstermen had scrummaged like that, line jumped like that ( one did) , Jackalled like that, kicked penalty from inside their own half, tackled like Lowe............. we would think all was well with the world. Very silent here on all these qualitie...

Re: Autumn International squad
Jacob isn't playing rugby at all. He's been injured for months and still people claim he is out of form. He has missed four games I believe. His last year or more has been below par. Such a lazy take. He has shown steady improvement to his all round game. Fielding, tackling, positional play etc. Al...

Re: Autumn International squad
I can’t wait to see Stockdale back. Now that Keenan has bailed down the 15 shirt hopefully Stockdale can get to work as a predominant winger who can cover full back in a pinch. His name should hold well against the likes of Lowe, Earls, Larmour and Conway when he is available for selection. Keenan ...

Re: Autumn International squad
A great performance but one slightly forward pass away from being beaten all the same. Also alarmed at how over the top the celebrations are each time the all blacks are defeated. All Blacks just shaking hands at full time enjoying themselves whereas the whole of Ireland is getting on like it was a...
