Massive point to prove by the group to the “external noise”. The aim has to be a bp win, a second half shut out, a solid MMless scrum, lower error count, more clinical attack. There is no way we'll get a BP win here, a LBP is more likely! It's going to be a heavily rotated side that travels to this...

You'll never find it pal, Triple Crowns in 1982 & 85. *3 they shared the title with France having lost in Wales & beat the rest.

Good viewing mind you.

'unprecedented prize money' Well, who would have guessed? 'The tournament already has backing from ... a consortium of private investors.' Well, who would have guessed? Two words: player welfare. If they're looking at the world's best players, the guys will have had a full league season, probably i...

We should be looking to lay down a marker and take Frank Murphy out of the equation. We need to move beyond hoping to beat leinster second string to beating them comfortably. Not saying this will happen next weekend but it should be the aspiration. If you know a cut-price assassin I'm happy to chip...

Frank Murphy on the whistle for this one. Information via @murray_kinsella on twitter. The new George Clancy. Clancy was the great-grandson of the Mayor of Limerick, murdered by the Black and Tans. In fairness to Clancy, he started as an out and out useless wee bigot, then he improved greatly to th...

The weal link in the Ulster side IMHO is Full Back It is not an ability of the player weakness basically it stems from a lack of experience in the position . the function of a full back is too ensure that each member of the back three is in an appropriate position for each set piece play -- scrum a...

Two reasonably strong teams, our bench even looks decent, should knock their wine in. 5Pts? Less would be disappointing.

Stu Moore at 15 is a bit of a Hail Mary, his kicking doesn't inspire confidence maybe he'll just run in a few 80-metre tries. >EW

Undoubtedly but why keep Tredders? I mean there is no way he will feature against the Lionels, must be needed for some XXXL tackle begs.

Should be strong enough for slaughter, I would like to see some indication of getting back to some sort of form mind you, the last 2 or 3 have been modest in terms of performance irrespective of OK results.

Fair points Allez, on Afoa I can never hear his name mentioned without recalling that his wife hated Belfast so much that she was mentioned in discouraging a potential big-name NZ signing to go elsewhere. There may or may not be any truth in that but what is undoubtedly true is that in 2014 Mr Smug ...

Re: 6 nations 22

Wales cheated against Georgia by forcing uncontested scrums when Georgia began to demolish them late in the game 4 or 5 years ago and held on to win narrowly. I believe that was the game that ushered in this law. As the old rhyme went: Taffy was a Welshman Taffy was a thief Taffy came to our house A...

Re: 6 nations 22

Ron'n, that's a decent effort to explain the issues. It is beyond doubt that in many aspects of life, laws are changed and don't solve the issues they are aimed at doing. It's not confined to rugby. Those who change laws often do so with great intentions but until that change is seen for a significa...
