Re: Answering Ireland's call?

Met Jonny Bell over christmas and put this argument to him as a reason for Ulsters poor form/results and he utterly dismissed it. You would have to say that it would have been an easy excuse for him to use to explain Ulsters season thus far. I suppose the cynics could argue that he was just playing...

Re: Answering Ireland's call?

Ferris alluded to the IRFU preventing the provinces from signing who they want, are they intentionally preventing us getting top class players to ensure they have a deeper pool of talent from which pick? Short answer: yes. Longer answer: the heads of the IRFU would polish the language a bit, but ul...

Re: Answering Ireland's call?

If Ulster had not used two of their NIQ spots on Nick Williams and Louis Ludik they'd be in a stronger position, also if they weren't unlucky enough for Henry and Henderson to both be out long term with an injury they'd be looking even stronger. Every province, bar connacht, is dealing with the sam...

Re: Rugby is a simple game

Ulster are generally producing a lot of talented backs, the most of any of the provinces right now
Marshall, McCloskey, Farrell, Olding, Nelson, Scholes, Jackson, Allen, Gilroy all being under 25.

It's developing forwards that's the problem.

Re: Ulster, Pro 12, Ap and Top 14 Standard ...

Game is becoming dominated by player size and defence. All about about bosh.

Doesn't help so many players are getting injured too or that this season in Ireland everyone's main focus in the RWC.
Or that you have a poor coach.

I don't think there's a lot of IRFU contracts for players who aren't nailed on starters these days.

Great news for Ulster though!
Declan Fitzpatrick
doesnt have a central IRFU contract.

Re: Dan Tuohy Signs New 3 Year Deal

Three years seems excessive. He's 29 now so will be 32/33 at the end of his contract. Don't think that's too bad? Do you think he'll be any good by then? Because I think he's borderline now. Borderline, what? Two points anyway, 1. Locks often peak between 29-33 2. Touhy is a very good lock, w...

Re: Who was your MOTM for ULSTER vs Leinster?

Can someone please just tell Bryn to go ahead and sign a new backrow, I cannot bare the despair of looking at another team sheet with a backrow that could get given a run for their money in the AIL. By the way the dog darts past my kicking trajectory at the moment neither can he. If Leinster had lo...

Re: Any word on the Academy?

Looking at the past two ireland u18 squads, there has been 4 props and 2 backrow from the forwards selected, you'd hope that most of them could make the academy setup.
