Six nations referees

Question: I see on the Irish site that Stuart Dickinson (SCO) is refereeing IRE v SCO in the six nations!! Is that allowed?

Watched the game on S4C - dragons were the better organised team and desperately unlucky. Hate it when the referee decides the game; technically the decisions were correct but I always think a good referee is one you don't notice is there!!

How's about something a little more rousing (or pretentious!)...to the tune of 'The Halls of Montezuma' Chorus: From the rolling Glens of Antrim Tae the hills of Donegal We will stand and shout for Ulster As we win both scrum and maul From the lovely lakes of Fermanagh Tae the shores of old Lough Ga...

Oh, I hope you're right 'buy your own' (remind me to send you a lovely song that fits your moniker!) I had confidently foreseen a good season but all these depressing mails have got to me. By the way there was talk on this site of a new mascot - did you see the young lady who displayed her marvellou...

Questions

I didn't find any answer to the 'where was Ferris question? Is it true only 3500 supporters were there? When was the last time so few showed up?

International call-up

Living abroad I didn't see Ulster's game with Rotherham but I did see the Ospreys against Wasps courtesy of the Welsh language program. In the light of the many gloomy write-ups in this web on Ulster's performance the following can be seen as good news for Ulster. Staunton (out-half) Reddan (scrum-h...

Objective?

Living abroad I did not see the game against London Irish but have followed only through articles and your fanmail for which I'm very grateful. I get to see most of the celtic league thanks to the Welsh BBC and S4c. BBC NI and radio Ulster seem to have only time for soccer and gaelic. (that's anothe...

I don't know about Scotland just yet but Edinburgh have certainly toughened their squad and I think Cardiff will also surprise a few people this year (hopefully not Ulster).

It looks like McCall is going to give all thirty-seven a run-out in the two friendlies. Greast decision in my opinion but probably means winning the two friendlies is not priority one. Beating the Blues is!! Still, it would be great to win the friendlies as well - C'mon you Sons!!

I think the Ulster squad is looking quite healthy and that's the key word - we did have a lot of injuries last year! So fingers crossed. I think the other surprise packages will be the blues in Wales and Edinburgh in Scotland as both squads are substantially strengthened. The CL should be a cracker ...
