Re: 6 Nations 2024
Stu is an out-and-out inside centre ,the only suitable player for the third seat on the bench for the backs is a utility player who can move across the back line . While players can fill in at scrum half and out half the options become fewer when in possession and the attack becomes predictable . I ...

Re: PADDY JACKSON
FIRFU ruined Ulster and possibly cost Ireland the World Cup hypocrites and morons
The only guy who rescued the IRFU was Humphries recruiting Burns with the promise of an Ireland cap but Billy was and is no substitute unfortunately has his moments but few and far between

Re: Contract Situation
I'd love know who you think should be in charge Because i know of one club that by passed its blazers spent a fortune and then had to sell most of the assets of the club Every business has its good directors and its bad directors and the wisdom of the old bull is better than than that of the young b...

Re: Contract Situation
There maybe some booze left in the changing rooms for after the match --but everything thereafter would i assume be paid for by the players recognition of the fact that from monday to match end, booze is meant to be off the menu. Booze and training don't mix too well. I'm sure there is only one F in...

Re: Contract Situation
But for the" blazers " most rugby clubs would cease to exist most are volunteers unpaid who devote many hours to enable the game to exist at club level -- many are competent networkers but there are a few who are there for the ego trip. Post matches dinners are either paid for in advance o...

Re: 2024 U20's
Hopes showed up well in the first 15-20 minutes but like all age games most of the boys will shine for a couple of weeks and then fade away as the realty of professional rugby hits them --- they don't have to be as good as existing players they have to be better and that gets harder each year after ...

Re: 6 Nations 2024
His problem will be that it was the same offence repeated twice -- and the offence being one that is considered foul play rather say a repeat of an like off side or failure to release and therefore subject to review to being up graded during the game.

Re: 6 Nations 2024
Lowes kicking actually was not superb he was lucky that the French return of non touch kicks was extremely poor . If you are kicking for touch make touch but kicking long without close followup can frequently be extremely dangerous since it gives away possession and if the return is fast you can be ...

Re: 6 Nations 2024
Without their scrum half France lacked any flair and when the second row went off their morale hit zero only some friendly refereeing gave France the opportunity to score a couple of trys. Thus the match is not a basis for assessing the Irish performance or future performances . CI the major problem...

In certain games dan is going for experience and build Sheridan lacks experience and has a frame which needs to fill out a bit ,he also has to gain confidence in using it -- Look at McCann a year ago he was deservedly searching for a place now he is one of the first names on the sheet . Sheridan in ...

Re: Injury Update
The lad was getting nowhere fast to be honest ahead of him he was facing McCloskey, Hume,Marshall Moore and Postlewaite and in the circumstance it makes a wise decision to be honest . He showed promise and bravery on the pitch, but as I state he lacked the experience of those previously mentioned du...

Re: Harlequins v Ulster Sat Jan 20 1pm KO TNT Sports 2
The replay from a different angle confirms McCloskeys claim the ball didn't go 5 metres at the throw in agreed it was only a matter of inches but the receiver was too close to the touch line. ( never reviewed but quits claimed a knock on before an Ulster try goes immediately for a review and rules o...

Re: Best rugby player from each of the 32 counties
My father played with and against Blair Mayne said he was the only person on a rugby pitch that scared him . My father said it was because Blair Mayne hadn't a clue about his own strength . Sir Ivor yer da must have been a Malone man
