The Ravenhill 'match experience' is fairly pish for old stagers like me and many here, I rarely attend unless taking my kids, who generally abandon me for their pals anyway. But they do enjoy it, I know many who do enjoy their pint, burger and yarn, and they enjoy their night out... but thats all it...

I would disgree, front line players need to be training against skill and experience... pure muscle from the academy isnt enough.

NFL teams have a non playing roster for just this purpose

This wailing and gnashing of teeth rehgarding Jones etc is pash poor. He obviously offers a lot in training. Not every squad player is a match day player.
