Re: Summer tour 2018
Well deserved for Cooney, I saw this this morning: ohn Cooney is the statistical winner in the inaugural regular Pro14 season. The decision by David Nucifora to deny Ruan Pienaar a final contract caused a rare show of total unity in Ulster Rugby last year. Every tier of the Belfast structure compla...

Re: Marcell Coetzee
The guys who turn themselves into monsters always break and often as not it's joint issues. Too much muscle mass and power for the joints and supporting structures. It was interestig It was interesting to hear the Leinster coaches talk about how Robbie Henshaw had actually "de-bulked" dur...

Re: Trimble Retires
A great player for Ulster and Ireland in his prime. Andy would run through a brick wall for the team. If the squad were all like him we would not be the current shambles that we are. He deserved a proper send off and it's sad he didn't get it, but he remained all class to the end. All the best to him.

Re: Marcell Coetzee
Marcell makes Van Der Flier look like a small boy!!!! What a brute of a man. Ironically, Marcell himself was a much better player about 4-5 seasons ago, before he bulked up, and was a more traditional, fast, athletic flanker for the Boks. He was world class at the time. His game (and injury profile...

D4 I can tell you beyond dispute that Liz knows her rugby. Your post is grand in most respects but what you don't allude to is Leinster's trump card. Young lads at many schools are benefitting from be coached by decent professional coaches. Some in Ulster do also but not in the same numbers and imp...

Re: Who will decide
There is the risk that the IRFU turf them and believe that draws a line under it. Then 6 months down the line something is posted by or screenshot from another player which the mob don't like. Then it looks like an institutional problem. The mob won't be happy with simply destroying the WhatsApp 3....

Re: Who will decide
Sent this to the BoI media centre. ‘I am astonished and dismayed that the Bank of Ireland has issued a public statement confirming that it has interfered in an internal review process within the IRFU and Ulster Rugby which may result in employees losing their jobs. It seems not only unwise but irre...

For the avoidance of doubt I was referring to the most recent statement and now looking back Oldings initial statement (which I thought was a big step for him so soon after the verdict) also made no direct reference to UR yet in Gilroys recent apology he referenced Ulster’s values... Last night if ...

Any word on a contract for Darren? You may find this hard to believe but believe it or not, the first name on FOLK’s list to retain, was Darren Cave. I know this is counterintuitive makes as much as fûck all sense but I’ve expected DC to be retained since long before Crimbo. Expect to see him there...

Re: Ulster V Edinburgh
Wonder if Jackson and Olding have been keeping fit during their time off? Even if fit, they have not played rugby, even in training, for a long time and it would take several matches to get up to par, probably starting at club level. Doubt that it could be done before the end of the season whether t...

Re: Who will decide
There were a few posts above on the well-documented case of two Irish internationals having a consensual threesome with a woman in a Dublin hotel. The identity of the players is known. The woman indicated later that she regetted it, but acknowledged it was consensual at the time. Jackson and Olding ...
