Re: Ireland Team announcment

The "A" was a fitness check for Best and I would say having proved the point the management didn't want him wrecked and took him off early. Having read the Turnip board they are weeping big time that Earls is on the bench but there is a very logical reason earls on the bench provides cover...

Re: South African second-row Johann Muller in Ulster switch

Re Ticket pricing yes our ticket prices are below those of the GP and our Southern cousins but the reluctance to increase the prices could well take into account the fact that there will be serious redevelopment work required -- Stages 2 &3 which will seriously disrupt the facilities for some ti...

Re: Ireland Team announcment

If you count the number of times a ref actually calls for a scrum it is a small part of the game but if you count the number of times a scrum has to be reset the number of scrums is much bigger. There is a serious problem come scrum time any prop who considers he is or will be under pressure goes to...

Re: South African second-row Johann Muller in Ulster switch

Big signings and foreign players never guarantee success the GP is full of them --many of whom are centres and wingers at the cost of an International side which without Flutey only shows an occasional touch of class. European players ( French or Italian ) seldom if every leave France not even the G...

Re: Irish A Squad V Scotland

since the squad is not on the IRFU site not to sure where this squad comes from I expect Boss to start this time but I would rate him above To'l at the moment but the O/H being either Sexton or Ro'G goes against him I sense DK is following the Eo'S pattern of provincial partnerships where possible. ...

Re: England Saxons vs Ireland A

watched the game on Sky 2 and the commentary was woeful the guy did very little home work on the players and was so one sided-- marvelous this-- wonderful that-- great promise etc -- one pain in the ear Imo the ref wasn't that bad -- but like all refs falls foul not for the times he blew but for the...

Re: South African second-row Johann Muller in Ulster switch

My reading here is that Matt McC could be about to call it a day which leaves us with only three experienced second rows and while we have backrow players aplenty backrow players seem to be those who get injured most often and out the longest thus Rush would or could cover both second row and backro...

Re: Boss going to Leinster??

Boss wasn't out of form last season or the season before as stated by me he was playing with a disorganised pack and in saying that I'm not blaming Matt but there was a great lack of leadership on the park a sort of" it will alright on the night" and when the opposaition put the pressure o...

Limerick has always had a strong rugby Tradition possibly even bigger than Cork

Cork was always a GAA stronghold

Re: England Saxons vs Ireland A

I wouldn't read to much into the pecking order of selection because there is another "A" game next week and I doubt if the same players will be chosen . What is does reflect is the DK desire to "blood as many as possible into the "A" set up to assess his potential WC squad O...

Re: Boss going to Leinster??

colimM thats B-ll-x the guy has always been a good scrumhalf whereas the forwards around him were acting like headless chickens because you don't like the game he was playing doesn't make him a bad player

Re: Heineken Cup team of the week

Danielli doesn't deserve to be there

To many only see Danielli ball in hand ( and to be honest few better ) but that's only half the game

Four trys were scored against Ulster on Daniellis side of the pitch in ERC games ( Stade at Ravenhill-- Edinburgh away and at Ravenhill and Bath away)

Re: Boss going to Leinster??

Boss is a better player than Blair but it maybe that Redden has failed to settle at Leinster ( familywise ) and may want to return to England Boss in my book is possibly the best all round scrum half in Ireland at the moment ( vision- pass- boot-and defence ) he suffered for a time because the Ulste...

Re: Where did it all go wrong?

It didn't go wrong--- we were just in a mean pool Only one try Bonus point in the pool and the highest no of loser bonus points 6 and the team bottom of the pool had the highest points for such a place The other pools did not have as many teams of a similar standard Thus the use of a try bonus point...
