Re: Ingerlund, Ingerlund, Ingerlund!

Russ, i presume you are referring to Ross. I think he had quite an alright game considering the quality of the opposition. i agree he is limited around the pitch but in his primary duty he was acceptable. It was a strange game where both sides had their moments. England deserved to win and there's n...

Re: Irish Lions

Bazzaj, You are quite right. I was judging yesterday's performance too harshly. The conditions were dire. Coming out of the stadium I was struck by the amount of rain falling which we were all sheltered from inside the ground. BOD is still class and proved it in Cardiff. I just had an extreme mood s...

Re: Irish Lions

Bazzaj
Why would BOD go to just be on the midweek team with a number of guys ahead of him?
it doesn't make sense. Yesterday proved how much he had dropped off in a week.
He'd make more money being a commentator and saving his health as well.

Re: Irish Lions

O'Brien would be a 6. I agree he'd be nowhere near the test team being well behind the English and Welsh. I think he would go as they'd have to have a second Irish player on the tour. You have to have one from Scotland and you probably have to have two from Ireland if only for marketing reasons.Ther...

Re: Irish Lions

Sean O'Brien and Rory Best should be Ireland's two in the travelling party. It's hard to see anyone beyond that. Rory could make the test side. BOD might make it. I suspect he won't go as he won't want to be on the midweek team with Barrett, Tuliagi, Davies and Roberts ahead of him. It's a year too ...

Re: Time for ROG to retire

As a Leinster fan I totally agree.
ROG is at 36 just beyond it.
Thanks for great memories especially Cardiff in 03 and 09.
Jackson or Madigan or whoever come on in.

Re: Ingerlund, Ingerlund, Ingerlund!

First thing to say is the conditions. Non stop rain all day. The ball was a bar of soap. Surprisingly our front five held their own but there was no possibility of any back play for either side and the match resembled something from the 60s and 70s. ROG is well past it and it's kinda sad putting him...

Re: Ingerlund, Ingerlund, Ingerlund!

Incessant rain here in Dublin 4 this morning,
Just met some English fans salivating at the conditions.
This could be a mud fest.

Re: Ingerlund, Ingerlund, Ingerlund!

it boils down to Mike Ross.
Can we get at least 50 minutes from Rossie before he croaks?
Can Deccie Fitz last 30?

These are the questions.

England will apply naked savagery to get the answers they want. We have got to speed it up.

Re: Darcy???

Back on topic, this is what the IT reports Darcy as saying yesterday: Rugby: Gordon D’Arcy has warned England that his record-breaking centre partnership with Brian O’Driscoll excels in defence because “we have each a chip on our shoulder”. Ireland are hoping to take a significant step towards repea...

Re: Another anti-Ulster reporter at the IT?

Lighten up folks in Norn Arlan. Cooper takes the p;ss out of all sides. Slags off his own South Dublin Dart accent hinterland mercillessly. He is hilarious on Matt Williams and Neil Francis. He has a go at the Munster bigots too. I've always thought that Jim Neilly is a potential source for comedy i...

Re: Darcy???

BODOn his world record, 48-Test partnership with Gordon D'Arcy: "He's a hugely important player in my game just because of the comfort that he gives me, particularly from a defensive point of view; he's the best defensive centre that I've played with in that department. "He offers a lot m...

Re: Ingerlund, Ingerlund, Ingerlund!

national tackle bad duty? It could be worse, they could be waterboys on Sunday. Seriously, it's going to be a great occasion and the boys will really be up for it. Fingers crossed that Earls doesn't make it. Let's hope that Jamie wakes up and realises that his below par tackle count of 16 v Wales was...

Agreed, Heaslip did nothing on Saturday, apart from showing up near the wing and taking Rory Best's pass in the build up to Healy's try, and apart from a load of tackles and carries and passes, and apart from.....
Yup. Drop him.

Re: Ireland v Wales

Neil,
SOB didn't have 20 tackles. He actually completed 23 and missed one.
Frightening stat.
His body must be complete wreck today.
McCarthy had a phenomenal tackle count as well for all those who have been questioning him.
