Re: Ospreys v Ulster Sat Feb 15
We have persisted with Shannahan for far to long. The gap between him and Cooney is vast as is the gap between him and any other "reserve " 9 in Ireland. The team not only suffers but also has to change structure considerably to compensate for his deficiencies particularly when we are on t...

Baloucoune for me is also a natural defender and rarely misses a tackle. With pace to burn he is one for the present never mind the the future

Re: In Defence of Schmidt, Ireland's RWC and where to now?
A very disappointing World Cup but why the surprise considering the results from the 6 nations and the autumn internationals when it was already apparent the team was on the on the wane and the tactics fully understood by the opposition. Joe was getting very conservative with no plan b. Stick to the...

Re: Ulster Vs Benetton Fri 25th @ 7.35pm Live Freesports
Friday night's debacle has confirmed unless we get a strong axis and back up at 9 and 10 we are wasting our time. Shannahan just doesn't cut it. He is not a threat anywhere in the pitch which makes him predictable and with a weak out half it puts pressure on the centers unless of course you aimlessl...

Marcel for me with great support from the back row and Rory playing like a flanker.
The other big positive is Baloucoune with well taken try and terrific defence.

Re: New CEO
I guess as he has an excellent record in dishing out rubbish he should at least have some knowledge of collecting it.
Does this now qualify him as a binman!!!!!!

Re: Munster V Ulster Sat 29th Sept 7:15
This is beginning to read like a Facebook page. What did we know coming into the season. Shanahan we a wee boy in a mans world, we had little to no strength in depth but had a raft of young players with potential,we lost for various reasons serious experienced players and we needed a year or more to...

Hope Cave plays. Does anyone agree with me and think he is a yard or more faster than he has ever been. I know its early day but for me he is like a new player this season and long may it continue.

Re: Replacement 10
Hope not Madigan we were super critical of him when he was with Leinster. Crabbing across the pitch, in fact I remember some calling him Ian Humphries light. On Christy Moore i remember many pints with him in the early 70's when he had just started full time singing. He sang regularly in the Manchest...

Re: Ulster Squad 2018/19
My point really was intended to produce some focus on my hope we will have forwards carrying and gaining ground rather than the style we had during the Kiss era of a pass to the inside centre who was primarily given the ball to crash it rather that move it out. I think McCloskey may have more in his...

Re: Ulster Squad 2018/19
Hopefully with the new coaches in board we will see backs playing like backs and McClusky not used as a biff bash back playing like a forward because he is only one capable of gaining ground. If he gets his off loading game back maybe the rest of our backs will get to see some ball.
