Re: New contracts...

This is my ponderance - Matt Williams has liked the expansive game, even when it wasn't necessarily suited to the team he was coaching - see Scotland. That said, Ulster, for the most part, kept it tight and built a lot of phases against Gloucester. I'm wondering out-loud whether this is a change of ...

Re: New contracts...

Parks has a very limited game, also, however, although overall is better at his type of fly-half play than Paterson is at his own - hugely impressive boot and a decent step if he's really pushed but his distribution leaves a lot to be desired. Parks' suitibility to Ulster would be another question -...

Re: UB Missing a trick (again)

This is something that I've noticed the SRU doing recently. I see, for example, than the Scotland 'A' v Ireland 'A' game is being held in Perth, an area of the country that really doesn't get any rugby at this kind of level. The SRU has certainly realised the folly of centralising the whole professi...

Re: New contracts...

In some ways, Paterson is actually the sort of player Ulster should be looking at - preference for 10 but can also play in the back three, allowing O'Conner game time. Consistent with his goalkicking, not getting a lot of time at his club and almost 30, so a few years and plenty of experience in the...

Re: Flannery back for final 3 6N games

Not sure I agree, Muddy; I think it's long been forgotten by most just how lightweight an international front row consisting of both Flannery and Horan is exceptionally lightweight and it really does show. Dare I remind everyone of the problems that Ireland had securing ball from the ruck during the...

Aarons, while it ultimately depends on the size and general running of the community that's to be moderated, it probably isn't as big a job as one would imagine; I used to be a regular poster on a messageboard with some 50,000 members that was, effectively and quite strictly, moderated by 10 volunte...

Re: Poets / Poetry. Got a Fav?

An Elegy on the Death of Kenneth Patchen Lawrence Ferlinghetti A poet is born A poet dies And all that lies between is us and the world And the world lies about it making as if it had got his message even though it is poetry but most of the world wishing it could just forget about him and his awful ...

I will happily post any response I get, as long as it does not, somehow, implicate me in the closure of the form.

I must say, though, I never really did dig that whole brevity thing.

Cheers for the welcomes.

Re: SOUND OF SILENCE

YM: Regardless of the number of players leaving that we would expect Ulster Rugby to be wanting to hold onto, we cannot expect comment every time a player leaves the club; while it is clearly indicative of some ill-health within Ulster Rugby, I'd be looking for other and, at this stage I'd suggest m...

Re: Death of the Darkside

I hope Neilf comes over here - he was a beacon of common sense and knowledge in amongst the dross Well, thank you. Wonder will any of them have the nerve to email Anne with their views In answer to this question; I have contacted UR with my, most likely unimportant, views on the matter: Dear Anne, ...
