Re: Pack for next season...

Back 5 in the scrum are all somewhat light against a heavy pack and a team playing "tanks' -one pass and proceed forward till stopped . The back row is reasonable until injury strikes and in my book the main core is starting to look a little old ( Reid and Murphy ) while the second string is r...

And that’s before considering injuries and rotation.

Re: Any word on the Academy?

Doak and Postlethwaite are both carrying knocks apparently and Saunderson isn't seen as strong enough in the scrum at the moment apparently. Very surprised Humph JrJr is starting - had heard the other out halves were good- hopefully it means he has something about him. McKee is supposed to be decen...

Re: Ulster in the Challenge Cup

Even if Carter is cleared to play.

He hasn’t played since January, will he have match fitness and not be rusty. It’s taken him a few games in past to go through gears.

Be harsh to drop either O’Connor or Treadwell.

Re: Welcome to Ulster Leone Nakarawa

Won't improve our pack. We need two or three grunts with a bit of hardness about hem. Not an offloading show pony. I struggle to see any 'go forward' next year. Harsh but I've just watch Leinster seconds dominate us up front and bully us of four own patch. * 3rds Same old questions popping up, with...

Re: Glasgow v Ulster Friday February 19th 7:35pm KO

What I think tonight highlighted more than anything is that our post coetzee backrow, as seen in the second half, should able to cope without him if everything goes up the Lagan. Still think are backrow is going to struggle. A blunt back row with our back line is truely criminal. If we’re up agains...

Re: Contract Situation

I think we still need a big ball carrier for those one out carries. Leo is great in the wide margins where he can get his arms free for an offload. Having him crashing it up is not his style so where are we going to get it from? Not sure he needs to crash it up constantly though, he scares defender...

Timoney looked like he had bulked up a little and seemed to be paying dividends in last few matches. Now if only Jones could also. Defensively Jones has been superb.

Re: Contract Situation

So Tom Willis, younger brother of our previous wasps target. What's the chances? Not played for England yet and IQ then. Would be worth a punt. Real shame if Allison can’t over come niggles and push on, open net currently. Saying that big opportunity for a fringe player somewhere to come in and bec...

Re: Contract Situation

Simply delighted that Madigan is with us for two more years. The fans have really taken to him as he still has great ability and I love to watch him play Completely agree, wasn’t over thrilled initially. But been the complete professional and seems to of bought in well. Glad it has worked out for h...

Re: Welcome to Ulster Leone Nakarawa

Sometimes it takes the right person to motivate a player or person to get the best out of them. A case of different strokes for different folks . It looks as If the Ulster Management are trying to hold McCann back a little and not play him too soon which might expose him to injury early in his care...

No
Do we think that will change? or going to trust the academy forwards to keep making progress?
