Re: New Signing - Werner Kok

Stats aside, one could argue that Kok is the living embodiment of our new ‘three pillars’ of energy, enjoyment and competitiveness. He never stops, has had a bit of craic with East Terrace and knew he’d have to be the fittest bloke in the squad to make up for being a short Brennan. Would you want y...

Re: Bryn Cunningham in the Daily Telegraph - stop thinking about winning

Taken in the full context, I think what Bryn said is perfectly true - we're not in a position to be competing, but what he goes on to say is also true that we need to be bringing players through our academy, building bridges with schools etc. In that context, nothing to see here . . . (except, maybe...

Hairy Biker Dave Myers Enjoying their current series. Lovely bloke. Very sad to hear this and I won’t be trying to think of any puns. Was always great to see two pretty ordinary blokes preparing food that you and I could actually aspire to producing. Personally I couldn't stand Dave Myers, but a sa...

Re: 2024 U20's

For a long while after the second round of matches, Aunty Beeb had Ireland top of the table with 10 points and England second on 9. I think it was almost match day 3 before they realised that England had 2 bonus points and Ireland only 1, and changed the table. Very poor. Not unlike their commentary...

Re: Big Merv's nature watch.

Springwatch comes to the UAFC. Had 5 . . . yes FIVE robins eating out of my hand today. Only managed to get the imings right on a couple of shots though. The shutter noise if pressed too soon scared them off, and if pressed too late caught them flying off with whatever they took from my hand. Still...

Re: Team for Dragoons

I’ve taken a new role with the RSPB and will ensure that we fight for every finch. Will you come and fight for my goldfinches. In the last few months their numbers have dropped from 40-50 to 6-15 at a time. Where have they all gone? I don't think the beastly sparrowhawks managed to eat their way th...

Re: Team for Dragoons

It’s the Dragons minus their internationals. If we can’t secure an impressive bonus point win against that lot then we really are doomed. It will be interesting to see how we play though. I’m struggling to understand how McFarland stopped the players from catching the ball, tackling the opposition,...

Re: Dragons Pre Match Q&A with Jonny Petrie

We'll win nothing with Burns. He is a symptom of our mediocrity. Turnips are welcome to him. And we'll win nothing with Flannery either. Coming up on 26 and hasn't made an impression at either Ulster or Munster, he's as much a symptom of our mediocrity. Flannery and Burns would be acceptable as 3rd...

Sad news. Old school defender and not the worst manager in the world. Spent a hell of a lot on minutes on the football field which seemingly didn't do him any good in the end. Yep. Ex professiobal footballers do not seem to have a particularly long lifespan. Even worse I fear for the current profes...
