Re: Squad v Cardiff + extended injury list
or has anyone considered that ulster rugby are not obliged to reveal anything to the supporters? contract negotiations, player/management relations, etc - not our business take a look at leinster/munster no-one would argue that they are the model we aspire to emulate. While I agree mostly with the ...

Re: Going nowhere fast
How come everytime we lose we get the 'end of the world' comments. Look at the Blues team - we were away from home against a team with about twice as many internationals as us - if we had won it would have been unexpected and a great result. Caldwell was unlucky with his card, Cave was daft but it ...

No. Nothing to do with the Agency. I was referring to his playing contribution.Ardglass2 wrote:Was the reference to cornerstone a subtle reference to cornerflag ?
Problably not and just me reading too much into it - anyway as an FYI Mr Ed has nothing to do with Cornerflag

Re: Nine sign for Ulster
So Ed is off to Leinster. By what reasoning I wonder did the Ravenhill brain's trust arrive at that gem? Seems perverse to me. Ulster a feeder club? Not likely but disturbing that cornerstone of the pack is leaving.

Re: South African second-row Johann Muller in Ulster switch
Boss is concerned. If the management don't see how important he is to the team and the supporters they are in need of a wake up call. Would these be the same supporters a majority of whom have spent the last few seasons deriding him for having a slow pass and being indecisive? That wanted Cil...

Players do get jailed for acts on the field. "Rugby player jailed for kick By Emma Pearson Saturday, 7 April 2001 Independent A rugby player was jailed for six months yesterday for kicking an opponent who suffered a double fracture of the leg that caused him to give up the sport. A rugby player...

Re: South African second-row Johann Muller in Ulster switch
FRU salary cap is £7.1 million, GP is £4.0 million. Ours appears to be two sticks of yellow man and a bag of dulce, at least as far as Boss is concerned. If the management don't see how important he is to the team and the supporters they are in need of a wake up call. Of course it may be that Isaac ...

Re: South African second-row Johann Muller in Ulster switch
We could sign Ruairi Cushion from Plymouth Albion. Ex Leinster A player. That would cost £10 and a lucky bag but he's a decent player according to friends of mine in Exeter. So we could have Willis, Cushion and Porter. Sounds like a firm of Victorian solicitors.

Isn't there a Kolpak exemption foe certain nationalities under E.C. legislation? A judgement in the European Court of Justice in May 2004 has meant that if a person is a national of a country which has an Association Agreement with the European Union (countries such as South Africa, Zimbabwe, some W...

Re: Group system needs revamped
Surely 8 pools of 4 would add more teams who would get pasted 6 times and then there would be more groups with the "Italian factor". I agree that this point comes up every year and is a real concern. Not if the teams were any good. Ten English, ten French, 8 ML, two Italians, two optionals.

The way the results have gone over the weekend and some of the possible outcomes means that we could actually end up as a 4th seed in the next Heineken Cup. Seedings are based on the previous 4 years so some of the clubs like Wasps could bring in higher scores than us and there is the vagaries of th...

I thought Xavier Rush has signed for a Japanese team next season. If we could afford Pienaar then we could afford to keep Boss. I think hopes of Pienaar are pie-in-the-sky. Unless BJ has sold us well and led him to believe that this is a sort of rugby Shang-Ri-La with cheap drink and pretty women in...

I think it is unlikely that Peel would ever come here. Why would he when he would get a bigger salary in Wales and access to thw WRU. He would be daft to come here when he is a 'star' at home. I think he'll stay at Sale. On a more disquieting note, it seems, according to info from another usually re...

- Fly half. No sexton so Humph has the oppertunity to take this game by the scruff of the neck. I'd like to see us play a bit more field position. Too often we try things from deep, get turned over and we're under pressure again... What if Humph does not start :? According to the tele, NOC is start...
