Re: Contract Situation

Ulster should target Jack Boyle from Leinster (a very promising youngster behind Porter, Healy and Milne) and sign an NIQ 9 or 10. They’d still have money to spare.

In reality, Kitshoff was slightly better than Kitshoff around the park, but probably on a par in terms of scrummaging.

He was in line to be the biggest waste of money since... some previous bok.

Can we focus on Irish players please?
He was poor alright, didn’t improve the scrum, made some high profile defensive errors and cost an absolute fortune.

A poor man's Paul Steinmetz...

Montpellier picking a weakened team, would be interesting to see what the bookies make of the selections.
Any pack with Willemse in it will be a tough battle. The man is an absolute unit.

However unlikely but would be awesome if it happened https://rugby365.com/tournaments/european-cup/video-cheetahs-plan-fitting-ulster-send-off-for-retiring-pienaar/ It should happen anyway, even as a benefit friendly. Fill the place and FIRFU That would be a great occasion. Fill the stadium for one...

Re: Injury Update

Ewers hasn’t been bad enough so that he can’t be used.

I’d still rather have him than Matty Rea.

You’d imagine he’ll be upgraded early if he continues to be in the 23.

Re: Kits Off

I’d like to think it was B. Ultimately at LH he isn’t going to dramatically change UR fortunes on the pitch and he’s on big money. Absolutely no point keeping an unsettled player. No way should UR be financially subsidising any return to SA. Will the saved contract money be reinvested? I think a lo...

Re: Stormers v Ulster Saturday March 30th 5:15pm Viaplay Sports

As long as Ulster aren’t paying a penny of his wages next season. He hasn’t been that much better than Warwick to be honest. Certainly not in the scrum, he has a high penalty count, don’t think he’s won a turnover yet and Danny Care made a complete fool out of him by running past him to score a try ...

Re: Stormers v Ulster Saturday March 30th 5:15pm Viaplay Sports

This is a very different ulster team in a very different place than the one from 2 seasons ago.

They hit rock bottom only a few weeks ago. Since the Leinster collapse last season things have been very poor.

Re: Stormers v Ulster Saturday March 30th 5:15pm Viaplay Sports

The Stormers were loose and erratic because they were put under pressure. We weren't great either but what we did have was heart and attitude in abundance something severely lacking this season. Yesterday was a step in the right direction. Felt like a win in some ways. Corner turned, no. Can we now...

Re: Stormers v Ulster Saturday March 30th 5:15pm Viaplay Sports

I wouldn’t object to that, as long as the spend some of the spare wage bill on signing either A)- a loosehead or B) a flyhalf/scrumhalf
