Season Ticket renewal ...

Post by BR »

Got my email from Karen:
Username: The username is the email address to which this message has been sent.
The email was sent using a BCC option, so how do I tell which of my email addresses it was sent to?

Can I come out from behind the sofa yet?

This could be way off target as I do not know what your email software is or whether it is a webmail you are using.

I use Outlook Express and emails are downloaded to my computer from NTL. There are multiple accounts - even Cordelia has one.

When in INBOX, 4 columns are displayed. The RH of these is headed ACCOUNT and gives the name allocated in my address book for the email address the email was sent to. I can go to the address book, look up the name and read off the email address from the same line. This applies even when the email was BCC. Well, it does for me anyway.

I can use an alternative method to detect the receiving email address.

RIGHT CLICK on the email.
LEFT CLICK on Properties on the dropdown menu.
LEFT CLICK on DETAILS TAB
Read down the text looking for:-
"For <>"
The text between < and > will be the email address the email was sent to.

This may not help as your set up may be different.

If it is Outlook you use BR just right click the header in your inbox then select "Message Options" (bottom of the dropdown list)
then you will get a text box like the one below
Return-Path: <Karen@ulsterrugby.com>
Original-Recipient: BR@whoever.net
Received: from imp-8.mail.tiscali.it (10.39.115.229) by mail-8.uk.tiscali.com (8.0.023)
id 4B838C400584E493 for BR@whoever.net; Thu, 1 Apr 2010 11:36:23 +0200
Received: from ur-srv-01.IRFU2.ulsterrugby.com ([217.41.82.204])
Be warned that Karen appears to have a different mailing list than everyone else as I had to dig my own out of a disused account which I stopped using 5 years ago
