Hi folks,

I know a good few of you stream sports. There's plenty of free options out there but I have just signed up to Sportsmania. It has cost me £26 for 6 months.

It works in Kodi, has an android app, works on the browser on apple devices and also laptops/computer.

Im watching NBC Golf in fantastic HD here on my fire stick.

Im only posting this because a few of you ask for streams and might be interested.

Not being totally aux fait with all of these plug in gizmos, is the amazon fire stick a subscription or an up front payment. If you are a huge sports fan, less than a fiver a month, sportsnation seems excellent value.

I have installed an app called mobdro, you can get all the above free along with hundreds of other channels on your Android device, including a few eye raising ones, if you know what I mean.

The stick is an upfront payment. You will see people selling them 'fully loaded' with sports and movies. Never buy one of these. You're paying an extra £30 for 10mins work.

It does seem good value. I hope it works well, it has so far.

Modbro is an option but I have found it to be crap on occasion but as its free I would give it a try first to see how you rate it and what you think.

Damian - how does it work exactly, as in, do you have to download a player or what? And then is it literally just a stream - so you're dependent on someone somewhere having the right channel/red button pressed or whatever?

Sometimes a player is needed. It depends what system you are trying to watch it on.

It is a stream. I've honestly no idea how it works behind the scenes. Most of the channels are 24/7 so won't have to be changed etc.

If you are tempted to try it I would recommend signing up for a short period to see how you rate it. If its reliable for you etc.

As always with online streaming you're getting it at a fraction of the price of Sky say so don't expect the simplicity of Sky or 100% reliability. That's just a warning not meant to scare you off.

Yeah piece of cake - I suppose my concern would be that the lads running it collect a rake of dough and then disappear, or alternatively get shut down by the sky police! I don't fancy anyone's chance of a refund

But still at that price it's a risk I'm happy to take

This ones been around a long long time.

There's one I used years ago and its still around. I've no idea why but the private ones never get shut down.

Does the stream depend on your internet speed and what broadband would be recommended

It does but there is both HD and SD streams.

I'm honestly not sure.

talktalk and it aint great, been thinking about changing it for a while but not sure who to go with heard a lot of pros and cons for most of them

Mr WW downloaded an app on Wee Girly's android tablet last week that had all the sports channels on it - BT Sports, Sky Sports 1-5, all free.

Must check the name of it and let you's know.
