I just about remember Jimmy as a mythical figure at school he was massive even then.

I played against Jimmy at schools level and it was just a joke - he was at least twice the size as everyone else. All the Portora boys had to do was give the ball to Jimmy and he would run through everyone to score under the posts - sometimes with a couple guys hanging around his neck.

He was a great player.

I can remember J Mc Coy playing at Dgn early 80's I was playing colts then and he could outsprint some of the backs at training[always had time for young players passing on tips and support.],great man and highly respected,thought he might have got a few more Int caps.


In relation to R Corigan;reckon he will have an impact on the front row,he certainly is aware of the dark arts of the front 'five',and our props can only benefit from his experience.

He certainly didn't do much damage to the Methody front row of Kennedy, Gilliland and Johnston.....

while I kept a safe distance on the wing!

He was however an awesome player - great to see him still involved in the game.

tevez- yes but it took the three of them to even up the odds. Wise to stay on the wing unfortunately in my case the back row was somewhat closer to him.

David Gilliland - hooker - son of Ronnie Gilliland International referee

Schools Cup winner 1976 with Methody (and perhaps in '75 also - can't remember - we won it about 5 years in a row around that time.

Played for Cambridge in varsity match (lost)

Like mant hookers always had plenty to say for himself - party piece - throwing ball from corner flag and hitting goal post (side on - obviously!!)
