Ticket prices: schools cup final
Perhaps this post will be shifted to the skewls section but it's as much to do with the Branch as schools rugby. Ticket prices for the game are:
All remaining Stand - Adult £15 Child £15
Promenade- Adult £12 Child £8
Terrace- Adult £11 Child £6
Now maybe I'm getting tight in my old age but 15 quid for a child ticket in the stand appears a tad OTT. Indeed, all the tickets are 2-3 quid too expensive IMHO. Yes, it's a cracking afternoon, but it is still schools rugby. Surely the idea should be to maximise the numbers of kids attending the game, rather than maximising revenue...

Re: Ticket prices: schools cup final
The last time I was at a School's Cup Final would have been in 2000 and if I recall correctly, the terrace ticket back then was either £4 or £5. In the eight years since then, I don't think the £1 or £2 inflation is all that OTT. Maybe it is for the stand, but I doubt that many kids would want to sit in the stand for the game anyway - I certainly never did.

All that money going to the Branch and the schools, coaches and players see none of it

Must admit I agree with you - when I saw the email my first thought was the prices were a tad steep for a schools game
More importantly - will the beertent be open

Prices for child terrace last season was £3 or £4.
Aine, there is no beer tent open, due to the amount of kids there.

Not too sure, would have to email the Branch about it.

Re: Ticket prices: schools cup final
It seems a bit steep that the prices are almost the same as for a Professional ML match. But the money for this should be going to the branch and not to Ulster Rugby Ltd. (or whatever the Pro team is called)). As long as the money is ploughed back into schools and amateur rugby development then it is probably a good thing.

Re: Ticket prices: schools cup final
Setting all that aside, there is another obvious error
According to UR website, adult price for terrace is £10 not £11 (no matter whether bought in advance or paid at the gate)
Anyone from around these parts going (DHK need not reply)

I'm tempted, to support DHK and for a reason not to go to Whetherspoons with the family.
Hollywoodmike2umate, are you going? I can give you Whetherspoons Guinness vouchers if ye want?

I know - hence my post.againstthehead wrote:Ulster Rugby email states £11
Maybe Alistair Darling introduced tax on the 2bu yesterday and the Branch have had to put the price up.
