Too many penalties, too many mistakes and too much ball kicked away- a poor performance- very similar last quarter to Ravenhill game.

Nagusa looked blown - was very slow to turn to chase the kick over his head, and was lucky to get away with not conceding a try.

Wise up, a losing bonus point in Edinburgh is great result for us at this stage in our development as a team. I'm delighted we held onto it. Did absolutely no-one else heed McLaughlins calls to keep our feet on the ground?

We didn't become world beaters overnight. This was a hell of a lot better than we've done in the past away from home against much less forbidding teams than Edinburgh.

Ref was not great but that was shocking in the second half. A lot of players went missing when in came to the crunch.

Their bench players made a big impact where as ours had no influence on the game and never got up to the speed of the game. Think we really missed Rory in this game as second half he would have lead from the front at the breakdown where as we never looked like turning ball over and they built up vast amounts of phases.

Lucky to get the BP.

They just starved us of ball for half an hour.

If you're trying to blame the ref for our defeat here it might be the worse case of clutching at straws I've ever heard
ref made absolutely no difference... any questionable decisions were in our favour as much as they were in theirs. clutching at straws indeed.

fair point that man. but with 7 points up with 30 mins remaining we should have been in with a chance - but we got totally blown away. not a terrible result but poor performance.
Climb up onto the top of your house and start screaming: 'stand up for the Ulstermen, stand.......'

overnight...??? how about 10 years pal?

no-one expects world beaters overnight... but getting out of the group stages after a decade is reasonable.

we were gash, that last half-hour. very lucky to get that losing bonus point the way we imploded.

And how many of our players and coaches have been involved for 10 years? What does that have to do with the current generation?

We were tom kite for the last two seasons and we're a hell of a lot better now. Failure is a great reason to do better the next time- that's something this team knows that past Ulster teams didn't.

To be fair, I think most of the complaints have been about the abject way we let them romp all over us in the last 20/25.

Agreed, it's not the end of the world, and we are making great progress under a promising coach, but I can see the cause for complaint

Certainly is, our reserve tight five forwards got minced. The strength in depth isn't there, Kyriacou and Botha were especially missed. But Edinburgh played a great game, and they are a fantastic team when they hit their straps. McLaughlin certainly won't be happy, but the big picture is that that losing bonus point keeps us in with an outside chance of the last 8 and a good chance of getting into the last 8 of the ECC.

When you consider the two tries missed by Visser, the charged down drop attempt, and the missed penalties from Godman, we were in fact lucky to get away with the BP.
