Now someone correct me if I'm off the mark here but I caught the end of a discussion
on "Against the Head" the jist of which I think was that it was "player power" the was
the instigation behind McL leaving. Quinlan, Horgan & Sheahan were the panel and
although I missed the start I think this was the line taken by all three??? Did anyone
see the whole discussion.

Was also mentioned that TB and RW along with JP returning (from injury) would
all be part of the set-up next year. Additions to an improving squad.

Mark Anscombe expected to be named as new Ulster coach

Former ITM coach Mark Anscombe will be Ulster's new coach next season, BBC Sport understands.

The 54-year-old, who was also in charge of the successful New Zealand Under-20 team, is renowned as a technical forward coach.

He has worked with current Ulster players John Afoa and Jared Payne.

It is understood the other two candidates on the Ravenhill shortlist were ex-Ulster player Matt Sexton and former Gloucester coach Dean Ryan.

Anscombe succeeds Brian McLaughlin who was in charge of Ulster for three seasons.

McLaughlin has guided the province to the quarter-finals of the Heineken Cup for the last two years and is hoping to reach the Pro12 play-offs for a second successive season.

Hadn't heard of him but I trust Humps Snr as he's brought in quality so far.
