Ulster Ravens vs Bridgend Ravens
Opening B&I cup match this Saturday at Deramore.
Their results look pretty average this season to date although a good home win this week.
Any news on potential Ulster them - assume all non Heineken cup players to be involved.
Wonder if Bridgend will bring a similar support to Pontypridd last year.

Re: Ulster Ravens vs Bridgend Ravens
Based on the last side and now with others available the team could be:
Andrew
D'Arcy
Nelson
McCloskey
Cochrane
Niall O'Connor
Heaney
Lutton
Brady
Carey
McComb
Alan O'Connor
Joyce
Doyle
Birch
Bench
McCall
Annett
?
Simpson
O'Connell
McIlroy
Olding
Scholes
Based on the presumption that Pienaar plays and that Williams and Decky aren't fit. I have no idea how long Allen or Diack are out for but if fit I would imagine both would start. Bound to have forgotten somebody obvious as well. Olding could possibly start at 12 ahead of McCloskey. Struggling to think of tight heads after Conor Carey, is the lad Caufield who recently signed a tight head?

I'd love to see Olding instead of NOC at 10...
Re: Ulster Ravens vs Bridgend Ravens
Played loosehead with the U20s with Chris Taylor at tighthead - I'd assume Taylor would get the TH slot for the Ravens as things appear to stand.rocky wrote:Yes, but is injured and will be out for a few weeks with a bad ankle.

NOC was good on Sat at 10, and I agree with Rocky re Taylor, kid looks like great potential. Think I read somewhere that Doyle got injured on Sat at Dungannon.i think I will go watch this one on Saturday good way to clear the hangoverSilverstu wrote:I'd love to see Olding instead of NOC at 10...

Re: Ulster Ravens vs Bridgend Ravens
Fair enough if NOC is playing well but I'd like to see Olding push himself into contention at 10 and develop a bit more into an option for the first team. Still he is young enough yet and if NOC can up his game I have no complaints who starts at 10 as long as they perform!Kofi Annan wrote:NOC was good on Sat at 10, and I agree with Rocky re Taylor, kid looks like great potential. I suppose it's too much to ask that a team be announced for this match??

They have won 2 games out of 7,and so far they don't do too well away from home, they rely on a physical pack, but their discipline is poor,if the Ravens want to beat them, they will have to front up.

Probably am/morning/middle of night, also both sides wearing black and no floodlights, should be interesting especially if the reff has poor night vision.Cornerfleg wrote:In the morning or afternoon ... Them Ravens games are like Ninjas
