Thought that myself. Not impossible - I think Northampton do it even though they don't have a terrace.Jackie Brown wrote:If they fill in the corners surely they'll need to create some sort of tunnel access under there stand onto the terrace.

You haven't seen me at my best yet. Let's be honest, you probably never will.

I think the sight lines should be ok for a few extra metres.

Back loading will cut the cost of stewarding

Amiga; The fly through, I believe, is the most recent material released. It shows the Aquinas End to be front-loading but to have both a seated and terraced area. The Memorial End and the new Old Stand will be accessed via vomatories for both the seated and standing areas. This can all clearly be seen in the fly-through video, although I do accept that the actual plans may have changed since its release in November.
Judging from this fly-through, however, the three new new stands will be built to have the same rake, number of rows and roofing solutions, making them easy to fill in. The problems with linking all of this to the existing terrace seem significantly more problematic than roof heights, however. If appropriately designed, I could see how there could be a continuous ring of terracing around the whole stadium. After that, it seems fairly hopeless to link the structures together. I imagine that (beyond the potential ring of terracing), filling in all four corners would involve some kind of break between the terrace and the new structure (think how the ends at Stamford Bridge meet the sides). Perhaps those who saw the presentation mentioned before could elucidate this?

If the end stands are going to be seated with a terrace, couldn't they fill the corners at seated level and not do the terracing?
then you'd be able to walk in under the seats... Like a tunnel...
has anyone but me the slightest idea what I'm talking about?

I'm pretty sure the health and safety bunch would say nope.Rooster wrote:Hang on why move 3 or 4 m, the front stays the same and you just use top step or 2 as walkway surely ?
It'd be 3m wouldn't it? I'm just trying to think if I was lying flat on it (6ft), would I go much beyond halfway across the walkway.Rooster wrote: 4m is 13 feet which is a hell of a lot more than the current walkway ?

Yip, know exactly what you mean.AyeYerMa wrote:has anyone but me the slightest idea what I'm talking about?
But they definitely wouldn't be able to raise the capacity from 18K to 26-28K that way.
Re: Stadium Redevelopment Photos 2012-2014
Don't think I've seen that sort of capacity mentioned anywhere but on this forum.
Re: Stadium Redevelopment Photos 2012-2014
It was never mentioned anywhere to raise it to that level, estimate I heard was 23k, which does sound achievable.Amiga500 wrote:Yip, know exactly what you mean.AyeYerMa wrote:has anyone but me the slightest idea what I'm talking about?

We were at the meeting mentioned in the early season and in the presentation the figure of up to 26, 000 could be achieved by filling in the corners. Was not being considered in the short term or 1st phase however.

This thread is seriously off topic. I haven't seen a real photo for about 3 pages.

Did I imagine it, or are we getting a Desso Grass pitch too?
