Positives: We can now avoid wasting time discussing JP as next captain and use that time just to appreciate him as a great player when allowed to concentrate on his own game.

Although it highlights quite nicely how ridiculous the eurotable is.

Positives - the whistle went before I gouged my eyes out and fed them to the dog
Negatives - I got to see McKinney play in an ulster shirt.

Self respect, pride and character were all killed in the first half.
I thought we were hanging on for half time thinking that we would just butcher them in the second half.

Positives:
- We now know Wilson is not an openside.
- We now know Ruan is at best a fair weather outhalf.
- We now know Payne is not a great leader of men.
- We now know Marshall is liable to make silly errors.

Negatives:
- We knew all before tonight's game.

It's not ridiculous (despite my previous facetious comment) - it just needs to be interpreted correctly.

If the higher ranked team won against the lower ranked team every time, sport in general would be ridiculous (and pointless).

There's always room for positives and negatives:

Positives
- lineout outstanding considering the key players absent
- diack was everywhere. superb
- I though farrell was okay
- got back into the game with about 10 to go. should have went to within 2 points.....

Negatives
- what the heck happened the scrum - horrific. did we spend all week on the lineout and the scrum went to pot? i thought we would have dominated this area. baaaaaaaaaaaaaa
- gave away too many pens overall. Kept letting them off easy.
- as above in terms of mistakes and handling errors. we tried to be too fancy at times - esp in the 1st half. we just needs to go through phases and wait for pens...
- key players didn't turn up. Afoa quiet, ruan verging on horrific and payne invisible.
- cave all over the place
- kicking game not up to it. Scarlets had us on the rack all night with a great kicking game
- not even an LBP. pish.

Ooops

Forgot to say - did nothing at the breakdown all night. Did we get one turnover?

Positives - Kofi was right about strength and depth lacking
Negatives - Kofi was right about strength and depth lacking

Roger is not a 7
Ruan is not a 10
Mccomb, Farrell and mcilwaine are not good enough
The rest were not interested.

I think maybe this was a hangover from our heroics in France, and we thought the game was ours by right. There are no easy games, as they rightly say, and I think we were over confident. I hope this is correct and that can be easily solved. Perhaps a good kick up the Brennan is all we need?
Optimistic as ever
