Our scrumhalf resources really aren't good enough. Doak will be coming in possibly the season after next, but it's remarkable that we wouldn't just take a punt on someone. Then with the tightening of belts and Nucifora now needing to approve every academy entrant that might not be possible.

Scrum half would be one of the hardest positions to recruit for an Academy the reason being a professional scrum half must must adhere to the script and requires certain basic skills , flair is a bonus not a prerequisite -- thus attitude and self discipline are essential. WeePee survived because 95+% of the time he actually played to the script with the occasional optuntistic brainfart with a 5-10 % success rate.

Thus for a srcum half the prequistes to make the Academy are attitude and skill -- fail the attitude test and your out.

Wee Pee... played to the script? If he did it was more like 50% of the time. The king of Tap and Go with lots of broken forwards lying shattered all around him.

Tap and go is not included in the script but it is only possible when awarded a penalty - assuming between 10 - 14 penalties being given in a match tap and go is only possible on about two penalties a game in a match lasting 80 minutes thus 95 % + weepee was actually on script .

And we wonder why we produce deficient scrumhalf after deficient scrumhalf.
