I understand Leinster mix clubs schools for the B side and Connacht do the same. Not sure about Munster.

Ulster u18 club side were hammered by Munster at Easter so not surprised they changed it.

Connacht actually compete in the B section of inter pros while an Irish Exiles u18 team take their place in the A section.

The history of rugby in Ulster means that there is a shortage of underage club players -- the schools discourage it -- the legacy is that clubs fined it hard to obtain players because boys leaving school have no attachment to a club and stop playing.

Similarly in Leinster historically the number of schools playing rugby was limited thus young lads who wanted to play had to join a club -- but the clubs faced the same hurdle in that GAA was the more favoured game in many areas.

With Professional rugby being televised etc the clubs have benefitted in the interest shown .
