Toulon v Ulster, Saturday 17th May

Post by Jackie Brown »

How many front line players can we possibly rest?

Do we have fewer players registered for this joke shop cup than we did in previous seasons for the Heiney?

I'm hoping for a team of,
Ludik, Gilroy, Payne, Olding, Allen, iHumph, Marshall

Black, Herring, Ross, Stevenson, McComb, McComish, Ross, Diack (C)

That back row may actually perform well, by making Toulon laugh their sphincters off

That's the idea. Then when we hoof it into the air they will be unable to compete, not that we'll compete either.

Players registered for Europe who are available and not injured!:

LHs Black, Murphy, Warwick
Hookers Andrew, Best, Herring
THs Fitzpatrick, Ross, Ryan
Locks Donnan, McComb, O'Connor, Stevenson, Van der Merwe
Backrows Diack, McComish, Ross, Wilson
SHs Heaney, Marshall, Pienaar, Shanahan
OHs Humphreys, Jackson
Centres Cave, Olding, Payne
Wings Allen, Bowe, Gilroy
Full Backs Ludik

D4 might want Bowe and Best not starting with the game being a dead rubber and the 6 nations only a few weeks away. Pienaar, Best and Van Der Merwe could be rested. Only 4 available back rows so Diack and Wilson prob have to be involved.

Looks like McComish will get either a start or bench spot, he could cover 10 if needed :thumleft:

Ulster should be resting the guys they need for the Pro12 during the 6N window. That means Black, Herring, Jackson, Olding and Gilroy should be nowhere near Toulon.

the only way that team will be able to 'do a job' in France will be if they walk out onto the Stade Mayol for their warm up, pull down their pants and curl one out on the pitch - hopefully Doak stands on it.
I hope this isn't shown on tv and I fully intend to get completely off my face before the kick off for the Leicester match because I will not want to watch that sober.

Token resistance from our lot. give then 4 tries and then go through the motions. No injuries.

This may be the first time since a relative, inconsiderately decided to get married, when we played Wasps at Ravers and Humph scored about 300 points on his own, that I will not bother catching an ulster HEC game and instead take in an Ulster league game.

We would struggle even if all of our players were fit.

Unfortunately the injury gods have smited us mercilessly and our sub-standard players and spacker coaching staff are going to be humiliated.

Bronson Ross and Andrew Warwick could be starting against Toulon. To qualify that I watched both get their heads stuck up their Brennan in the AIL last season.

This could actually be dangerous.

I don't think we will throw it completely. Strongest available team to start...who exactly that is is obviously open to interpretation.

Joe will take a look at the fact that we have nothing to play for and say he wants to look at several players. I don't know who exactly, but I'd say with those players involved and our lack of available backs, we'll play a stronger team than expected.

I'm expecting something along the lines of:

Ludik, Bowe, Payne, Olding, Gilroy, Jackson, P Marshall, Black, Herring, B Ross, O'Connor, van der Merwe, Diack, C Ross, Wilson

Andrew, Warwick, Fitzpatrick, Stevenson, McComish, Heaney, Humphreys, Cave
You haven't seen me at my best yet. Let's be honest, you probably never will.
