Soccer ball at Ravespan?

Re: Soccer ball at Ravespan?
I'm told the big stand at Windsor holds 6k, so would you move a game to get an extra 1300 punters in?
Depending on the redevolpment schedule, it would seem to make more sense to stick in a generic temporary stand onto a concrete slab at Windsor than to try to retro-fit bespoke seating onto the terraces at Ravenhill.

Or where this could be found?
That makes about 8,000 seated - the rest (10,000) standing on the 4 terraces.
Could be wrong but think the above is pretty close.
8000 would be just enough to hold the "Season Ticket" holders, were there to be issues with terracing. Don't know if this is the case, though.
I found an old fag packet which has 7278 seats + committee box (146) + corporate boxes.

If the match was played at Ravenspan and terraces were open, the footy people would fill the ground without any problem.

Could we not just put nice rugs down for the footie fans and they can sit on the terrace? That thing about getting piles is an old wives' tale.

Oh yes please. A bit of banter in with some of the opposition fans. Just football supporters together, our love of the game and of tonic wine bringing us together.Rooster wrote:If Portadown are playing a bottle of Bucky would make you fit in betterDeraless wrote:Could we not just put nice rugs down for the footie fans and they can sit on the terrace? Nevertheless making comments like that could get you branded a Thatcherite round here. Down with that sort of thing.

I did wonder if thousands of gallons of p$sh down the back of the old kop over the years may have contributed to the subsidence?Jackie Brown wrote:Hmm, well they have previous.

Hang on a minute Merv, they still are not sure if it is subsidence, engineers need another few days to work this out, now looking at the photos the only other explanation is that corner has stayed as it was and the rest of the stadium has risen up, possibly due to an explosive gas problem in trap 2big mervyn wrote:I did wonder if thousands of gallons of p$sh down the back of the old kop over the years may have contributed to the subsidence?Jackie Brown wrote:Hmm, well they have previous.

A bit of a sideways move but I'm reminded of Max Boyce's 'Hymns and Arias' an empty beer bottle and an Englishmanbig mervyn wrote:I did wonder if thousands of gallons of p$sh down the back of the old kop over the years may have contributed to the subsidence?Jackie Brown wrote:Hmm, well they have previous.
