As long as we don't 'target' this one as an in the beg ... send out p and a load of the preseason dross and scrape a 2 point win plus 3 injuries.

I'm all for exposing the young lads but after 50 or so minutes when we've clocked up a good lead. None of this it's an easy game shyte - been there suffered from it for years in this league.

Just for clarification, kick off is 5:05pm UK Time on Saturday :)

Luke Marshall, Jacob and Treadwell all to be available for selection it seems.

I'd start Luke, Jacob and Tredders. We need our best possible xv against the Scarlets. Now they need game time because of their imposed rest ffs!
I have my own tv channel, what have you got?

Don't know for sure but would suspect p would miss the trip to Italy.

Preach Fleg, I've been saying for years, stick 2 or 3 nippers max. in a match day squad with strength in it & give them time when we have the game locked up tight. Bleed them in slowly and in good teams.

5 points and get things right to give the Scaaaaaalets a spanking the following week. Friday was a decent start, but we have a long way to go to prove ourselves against better teams.

What I did think on watching on TV is that there is a chance that we can get a return from our backs who do have quality if they get the right ball from the pack. It's a long time since that's happened.
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

Agree with the general sentiment about a couple of nippers being included and getting some gametime in this sort of match, hopefully when we have a bit of a lead. The only thing I would add about this particular fixture at the current time is that we have a reasonable number of players who are badly in need of gametime before the Scarlets match the following week, so we need to factor that into selection also. Reidy for example needs gametime, but if he starts then do we give one of last week's starting back row a week off and put Rea or Timoney in the bench?

In Hendy's absence the Tredders/AOC partnership seemed to be developing towards the end of last season and I could see them starting at the weekend. If Browne is to be backup though against the Scarlets he would need a bench spot at least.

if Cave or Luke are in contention for a starting spot vs Scarlets then they really need to start this weekend. I reckon big Stu is a likely starter vs Scarlets so bar injuries, I'd say Bowe, Cave and Luke are fighting for the 13 jersey. I'd give Charles a rest and play Stockdale and Trimble on the wings with Ludik at 15.

IMHO we have five players that can potentially get us over the gain line from first phase Piutau, McCloskey, Deysel, Coetzee, Henderson and Reidy.

Need three of them on the pitch minimum to provide a platform, even against the weakest teams in the league.
