Assuming the loan move till end of season means a worldy next season...or maybe not.

Any clues as to nature of this Sabbatical? Did he visit a monastery in Tibet to find himself?
He did a masters degree at Cambridge.
Yes I remember seeing some article about him getting his "Blue".
He lost the Varsity match though.

Was on that long injury list, but haven’t heard anything since then.

War chest/yams/diddies .........whatever you care to call it is non-existent, there is no war chest etc etc. That is why we trimmed our wage bill by getting rid of everyone we could last season and more will go in May, to manage the fact that gate money is fast disappearing like snow off a ditch.

Terry SLogan was not quite as dumb as some think, given he saw the writing on the wall and got out before the full effect of his blundering destruction of Ulster Rugby became as obvious to the great unwashed as it is to those with even the slightest insight as to what is happening on the hill.

Here is a little thought for you crest of the wave Paddybastards who think everything is rosy, to chew on. Just say the FIRFUCs had a Road to Damascus moment and suggested that we #bringthemhome. Ask yourselves, could Ulster afford the large increase to the wage bill. Clue: no they could not. If they come back, it may not be to Ulster.

We are paying a much higher wage bill than that of Mustard & Linseed for the simple reason that we have only two players whose wages are paid centrally. It makes a huge difference.

Some of you nutjobs who decry every signing "Bryn" (aka the coaches & B Cunningham) makes need to understand that there is a reason that Ulster are shopping in the bargain buckets, it's not a choice, it's a necessity. The "war chest" was spunked on Charless, a lot of good that did. There will be further experienced players leaving again, it is the only way at present and there is no sign of this downward spiral running to flatter ground. Unless the crowds pick up in December & January and hold, it could get very ugly. Frankly, other than Slogan, I can find none to blame other than the FIRFU

I wonder how the new TV deal is working out? Has the shedload of cash been dispensed yet? Was it an inspired decision? Or maybe a cockup? I'm sure we will all find out in the sweet by and by.

In the meantime keep basking in the afterglow of Mexicoplus out-boring NZ, its the only comfort you will find in the next while.
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

If either of the bringemhomes get brought "home" to another province that would be the ultimate irony. If they'd played there before the debacle they wouldn't be in this situation anyway.

Newcastle Falcons director of rugby Dean Richards said: "Rodney has been a proven performer at a high level for a number of years now and he will definitely add to what we already have here.

"He fits in with the way we want to play the game, he offers a ball-carrying threat as well as the nuts and bolts of his set-piece game and I'm delighted to be able to bring him over here."
