Ageism and Racism are equally bad in that both isolate an Individual. The difference is that ageism is seldom in your face but a institutional way of life ---- the modern growth of computerisation is basically the pure form of ageism evident to-day -- Banks expect everyone to be one line and willing to use their computer systems --- all fine and dandy if you have a computer --and trust their systems to work 100 % of the time. Airports and traveling are another thing of dread for the elderly with ticket purchase systems etc.
Never mind the foreign based call centres--press and enter a thousand numbers and wait half an hour to discover they can't handle your complaint and or requirement. Go into a shop and ask for something ---" you have to do that on line -- we can't do that here "

Racism you may learn to ignore -- ageism on the other hand is unavoidable and takes many forms.
Within this carapace of skepticism there lives an optimist

Ageism in airports is as off topic as granny porn.
I've been discriminated against.
