Ulster Squad 2019/20
Kernohan personally I consider the caps he has to date are due to injuries ,to be honest decent enough player, but I don’t see a long term future at Ulster .

Re: Ulster Squad 2019/20
did we not sign some NIQd England U18 centre from Harlequins too? Hyde or somewhat?
Re: Ulster Squad 2019/20
Hayden Hyde - believe he is actually IQ and has played for Ireland at U18 & U19 as part of the exiles set up. Think he is fairly highly rated - England had named him in an underage training squad also.nonplussed wrote:did we not sign some NIQd England U18 centre from Harlequins too? Hyde or somewhat?

Re: Ulster Squad 2019/20
Should have waited one more day, with departures of Pete Nelson, David Busby and Jack Owens announced:
Prop [9]: O'Sullivan (23) - McGrath (29) - McCall (27) - Warwick (28) - O'Hagan (25) - Moore (28) - O'Toole [20] - Kane (24) - Milasinovich (26)
Hooker [3]: Herring (29) - Andrew (26) - McBurney (22)
Lock [4]: Henderson (27) - O'Connor (26) - Treadwell (23) - Carter (29)
Back Row [7]: Rea (25) - Ross (30) - Murphy (28) - Reidy (30) - Timoney (24) - Coetzee (28) - Jones (23)
Scrum-half [3]: Cooney (29) - Shanahan (26) - Stewart (21)
Out-half [3]: Burns (25) - Johnston (22) - Lowry (21)
Centre [5]: Marshall (28) - McCloskey (27) - Curtis (21) - Addison (27) - Hume (20)
Back three [5]: Gilroy (28) - Stockdale (23) - Lyttle (22) - Faddes (27) - Ludik (32)
39 in total, which is quite light - albeit I can see that number going back up to 42 with promotions to development / full contracts for Marcus Rea (who was year 3 academy last year) and Baloucoune. (Other year 3 academy players: McCall and Hall, what's the story with them does anyone know?)
Yes the other names mentioned of course have been Hayden Hyde and David O'Connor, but in the absence of any official confirmation, I haven't included them yet.

Re: Ulster Squad 2019/20
How did Ian Henderson get to be 27? Seems like only yesterday that he was the 'man-child', playing beyond his years. I must be getting really old.

Wee dave being 26 has me a little shocked.solidarity wrote:How did Ian Henderson get to be 27? Seems like only yesterday that he was the 'man-child', playing beyond his years. I must be getting really old.
I have my own tv channel, what have you got?
Re: Ulster Squad 2019/20
I should say that the ages I've included are what age they will be at the start of the new season in Sept, so Dave is just 25 (for another few weeks!)Dave wrote:Wee dave being 26 has me a little shocked.solidarity wrote:How did Ian Henderson get to be 27? I don’t know enough about any criteria for players to get full contracts but given his performances and apoearances this season, I am a bit surprised to see Baloucoune on a development contract when some of the other young guns in the backs have moved on to full contracts.
I am sure if he gets some starts again next season and does well he will step up.

Re: Ulster Squad 2019/20
As far as I’m aware Hume and Lowry signed a 3 year deal and the first year was a development then 2 years senior. Funny feeling The Cat will be moved up to a senior contract with the other two very soon.Bart S wrote:I don’t know enough about any criteria for players to get full contracts but given his performances and apoearances this season, I am a bit surprised to see Baloucoune on a development contract when some of the other young guns in the backs have moved on to full contracts.

Seen as a replacement for Joe Ford, should get some game time with George Ford missing with England.Kanbei wrote:McPhillips to Leicester Tigers. Good move for him I think.

Re: Ulster Squad 2019/20
He seems a decent lad. Pretty good off the tee but tends to sit a bit deep. Got age on his side and should get better.
Re: Ulster Squad 2019/20
Leicester could get relegated.
