I wouldn't mind being an Irish cap or two behind him.

Double league and european cup winner who is irish qualified and covers out half, centre and fullback, what's not to like.

Can certainly add depth to our squad.

A move to Ulster would be a great way for Mads to finish his career on a high.
It makes sense all round. Good work by Nucifora if it comes to pass.

I wonder how much UR will pay him.
I see at Bristol he was raking in £500k and up until Christmas anyway was first choice on the A team.

Feel like he will be blocking young talent coming through i.e. Burns, Mads, Lowry and Johnston is at least one too many out halfs of similar level. Not sure what he is like as a centre or potentially full back. On the plus side he is a good kicker, Irish qualified and a decent player, I think the main question is what kind of salary he will be on.
On a side note it reinforces Ulster being just the Belfast branch of the IRFU, I can get it when we have a weakness at a position and fill it with a non Irish Ulsterman, but it reduces the real identity of Ulster Rugby as a provincial side representing Ulster.

Pity Baggy has left us. I would love to see his reaction to "Shinnerboots" on the Ulster squad.

I am utterly underwhelmed at shinnerboots signing - one year says it all. What’s the point.

Exactly.

Hopefully a stop gap awaiting the development of Michael Lowry.

There isn't a point. Is this to replace Ludik?

He is genuinely a player I never wanted to see in an Ulster shirt. I was on the verge of getting back on the ST bandwagon now the kids are a bit bigger, I won't be now.

Just when I was becoming convinced by the new Loganless and Kissless Ulster, this feckin' happens.

So Shinner Boots takes the Queens Shilling. He's o.k. as a bench player but it will derail Curtis and Johnston, I don't think Lowry will make it -sadly. He simply isn't robust enough. Ulster would have been better trying to entice Callum Sheedy. A superior player.
