Looking like a real missed opportunity this. Not taking the easy points in the first half in a place like Clermont is just absolutely scandalous. Brilliant I’m open play but yet again the set piece has killed us.

Still a lot to learn at this level with points left out on the pitch in first half. Dan threw the towel in with 15 to go which was disappointing. A draw was still a possibility which would have suited us.

Disappointing in the end but it’s not often you leave the Stade Michelin feeling like an opportunity was missed. Terrible game plan in the first half despite playing well. At least a try and a penalty available for the taking that would have given more wiggle room to soak up the second half barrage.

In any case quarter finals aren’t always a guarantee so it’s nice to be in such a strong position with a week still to go.

Not even taking into account the missed try scoring chances, take the easy pens and you go in at HT 16-6 Up. No, we choose to go for our weakest link in a lineout and lose both and instead it's 10-9 at the break. A completely different outlook with an obvious onsloaught from Clermont to come. We are undoubtedly going in the right direction but that was just common sense ffs to take gifted points in a place like Stade Michelin. Looking like another away QF away to Racing at best and more than likely a defeat there.
