4 week ban for Batty after his red card. Started at 6, reduced thanks to the usual stuff. In reality 4 game ban, free to play March 2nd.

Rumn

Played in many positions as well as being well schooled in the game by those who had played for many years ie listening to post match analysis and team selection discussions it trains you to watch the game being played by both sides and the referee.

If that is a red card, we may as well just pack up and go home now.

In my opinion "the hand off is more deserving ' a trip before the citing commiteee -- its pure straight arm to the jaw.

It is about time those who write the Laws and those who apply them recognise the fact that most injuries and definitely the more serious injuries arising out of contact are suffered by tacklers not ball carriers. The player holding the ball knows the risk of being tackled and it is that risk which enforces the need to pass. The most serious injuries to tacklers are those caused by being hit by the ball carrier's knees or by the ball carrier changing direction causing the tacklers head to be in the wrong place at the point of contact ie in front of the carrier's legs.

The ball carrier has run at Treadwell who has slowed down from chasing the kicked ball , Treadwell is not running at the ball carrier but actually after contact was made tackled the player from the side.

When will the outcome of this citing be announced ?
From the rolling glens of Antrim through the hills of Donegal we will stand and shout for Ulster as we win both scrum and maul from the lovely lakes of Fermanagh tae the shores of ould Lough Gall we will scream and shout for Ulster as we beat them one and all!

Kieran Treadwell’s citing hearing has been adjourned and will take place at a later date, according to a statement from
@epcrugby

The @UlsterRugby lock was cited for an alleged dangerous tackle against Bath at the weekend.

Now we know:

The hearing which was adjourned as the player was on scheduled leave from Ulster.

The hearing will now will take place tomorrow (Thursday, 6 February) at the London office of Bird & Bird LLP.

The Committee decided that the primary contact between Treadwell and Ellis had been shoulder-to-shoulder, and as the tackle was not an act of foul play, it could not have warranted a red card. The citing complaint was therefore dismissed.

Sensible decision -let's now move on
