The way the BBC are spinning this, it is all about Paddy and Stuart. Maybe they've read the runes and seen how bereft of options Ireland are at the moment so the harridans are making a preemptive strike. :fleg: :fleg:

Headlined on GMU this morning. Clearly someone in the BBC NI newsroom has an anti UR agenda. Its old news and certainly not the most pressing news story in Norn Iron today

Not really -- It was a mistake , a bad mistake on the part of Paddy's defence council, because it created the opportunity for the social media fishwives with an axe to sharpen.

It also took the focus off the imperfections in Little Alexia's evidence being reported adequately in the Press .

It has to be remembered that most rape cases are decided on the plausibility of the evidence given by the alleged victim , since the accused seldom admits to a crime. But for the evidence of Florence Dara given the nature of the evidence of Taxi driver and the panic reactions of Rory Harrison and Blane McIlroy , Paddy and Stuart Olding could easily have been found guilty.

It would be very easy to overlook the fact that her initial statement to her friend the next morning was a LIE

"I was raped by THREE Ulster stars ."

Every parent knows the truth never starts with a lie and A victim of rape has no need to lie.

Besty has let him self down massively by dragging this up again instead of diverting the line of questioning or simply keeping quiet. He probably has his own agenda but Ulster Rugby doesn't need this being highlighted in the media again. The perpetually offended will be throwing hashtags around again. Everyone else has moved on Rory and if you were so concerned about the five young people who are trying to rebuild their lives you'd have been wise to have left things well alone.

Rory would have been better avoiding the question.

While most of the world has moved on — it is a controversial part of his time as the Captain of the Irish team and therefore something every interviewer will question .

Failing to answer could be as damaging because the interviewer and listeners could inferred something adverse by his silence .

Not the best answer from Rory. Better to have said that he was not sorry for supporting his friends and team mates in a personal capacity but in hindsight it might have been a mistake to attend the trial because of the negative publicity it generated.

It's pretty simple; many had them guilty, hanged, drawn and quartered before the trial began and cast Rory in the role of supporter of guilty men.

The fact is Rory broke the rules of the Court of the Twattersphere Mob where the presumption of guilt reigns; the selective presumption of guilt that is.

If he was "ill-advised" about attending then he doesn't seem to have learned much, judging by this. People have made their minds up about whether he should have been there or not and this is just stoking it up again.

It's done and bringing this up benefits no-one.

Naive is the best way to describe Rory’s answer. He’s an Ulster legend but as green a culchie as you’ll find.
It doesn’t change the fact that Paddy and Stuart were found innocent of all charges. The accused was shown to be a liar and two lads were wrongly forced to leave the jobs, their homes and their families because she thought the only eye witness would out her as a tart because of what she’d seen.
I don’t wanna hear any bullshyte about the ‘shocking’ messages sent between the lads. Most Millenials have exchanged far stronger messages than anything reported at Paddy and Stuart’s acquittal hearings.
