Ulster rugby tight-lipped....

Post by Setanta »

This article removed from 'NEWSNOW' and the 'BellyTelly' - do tell?!
From the rolling glens of Antrim through the hills of Donegal we will stand and shout for Ulster as we win both scrum and maul from the lovely lakes of Fermanagh tae the shores of ould Lough Gall we will scream and shout for Ulster as we beat them one and all!

Nutshell: Gilroy posts social message to Cooney along lines of ‘happy birthday coons’ which was yesterday. BT pick it up as racist to fling more mud. Article now removed.

Ulster rugby "thick-lipped" then?

So it's a racist ye are ... ?

He's a bad lad Craig. Exercising in his own spacious drive and now this vile racism. Ffs!

Absurd, absolutely absurd. Clearly a slowest of slow news day. You just have to shake your head slowly from side to side and sigh loudly.

The photo was in poor taste and I'm not surprised UR are being tight lipped about the message.

Initially thought it was just a message he sent and thought the BT was going ridiculously OTT but if it was a deliberate photo to create a "joke" then he is on thin ice.

Thanks for the context Damo.

Yep. Thon is not good. A lot worse than his Whatsapp shenanigans.

You have to wonder what's between these boys' ears especially in light of everything that has gone before

The Belly Telly does have a miserable underbelly; face the length of a Lurgan spade.

That would be your opinion then, he has posted other photographs and has called Coney, Coons as that is apparently his nickname , more a post without thought than malicious to be honest , but no let’s all jump on the offended bandwagon.

I know that’s his nickname and you will see from my original post that just calling him Coons in a message is no big deal at all. . You will see that i said IF the photo was deliberately chosen because of his nickname as some kind of joke then I reckon he would be in trouble and rightly so. The fact that the BT has deleted the article does make me more hopeful that this was thoughtless rather than any attempt to be humourous and removed from all media accordingly asap.

He really could do with laying off the social meedya these days anyway or getting someone to vet his posts.
