Desrve 'to lose' after those bans.
From the rolling glens of Antrim through the hills of Donegal we will stand and shout for Ulster as we win both scrum and maul from the lovely lakes of Fermanagh tae the shores of ould Lough Gall we will scream and shout for Ulster as we beat them one and all!

So who do you think will be in the starting XV this Sunday?

Will Cooney be back as starting scrum half? Will Marcel overcome his injury niggles? Will Burn's be dropped for his intercept pass? Will we opt for the more experienced props from the start?

Or is it the same team as Saturday at the Aviva?

I'd have Cooney in at 9, but other than that as it was for the final, assuming Coetzee if fit.

There was a decent interview with Madigan on Off the Ball yesterday where he was asked when the squad would find out who was playing. I could be reading too much into it, but the way he answered it made me think they already know the team and he isn't in the starting XV.

I would be of the opinion that the 23 --24 players know who they are on tuesday morning and work at various set plays etc . as to who starts and who subs may be a different question -- but more than likely rests upon whose bumps and bruises clear up fastest.

Would consider starting the seasoned props and leave the young guys for the last 30 when the game opens up. Cooney to start again after his kick up the brennan and Jordi and rea to swap roles on the bench. Expect a high scoring affair but I think the last 2 weeks have taken a fair bit of emotional energy from the team, so another glory defeat beckons.

Agree with pretty much all that, need to stay in the game in the first half. Will be very interesting watching Kolbe and how we manage to negate him. Even in the air for such a small fella he is pretty good.

ULSTER TEAM NAMED FOR TOULOUSE CONTEST

The Ulster coaching group has named the match-day squad for Sunday’s Heineken Champions Cup Quarter-Final versus Toulouse (Stade Ernest-Wallon, kick-off 12:30pm UK/Irish time).

Scrum-half, John Cooney returns to the starting line-up, and is one of four changes to the side that played in the Guinness PRO14 Final versus Leinster last week.

Cooney will be paired with Billy Burns at fly-half, while the rest of the starting backline remains unchanged. Michael Lowry is named at full-back, with Jacob Stockdale and Rob Lyttle on the wings. Midfield duo, Stuart McCloskey and James Hume, will once again start.

In the front row, Jack McGrath comes in at loosehead to join Rob Herring at hooker and Tom O’Toole at tighthead prop. Iain Henderson will lead the side and is joined by Alan O’Connor in the second row. Sean Reidy makes a positional switch to blindside, while Jordi Murphy and Nick Timoney come in to the starting XV at openside and number eight.

Dan McFarland has again gone for a 6-2 split on the bench. John Andrew, Eric O’Sullivan, Marty Moore, Sam Carter, Kieran Treadwell and Matthew Rea will provide forward options, while Alby Mathewson and Matt Faddes offer cover for the backs.

Ulster team to play Toulouse, Heineken Champions Cup Quarter-Final, Sunday 20 September at Stade Ernest-Wallon, kick-off 12.30pm UK/Irish time, live on BT Sport, Channel 4 & Virgin Media:

(15-9) Michael Lowry, Rob Lyttle, James Hume, Stuart McCloskey, Jacob Stockdale, Billy Burns, John Cooney.

(1-8) Jack McGrath, Rob Herring, Tom O’Toole, Alan O’Connor, Iain Henderson (Capt.), Sean Reidy, Jordi Murphy, Nick Timoney.

Replacements (16-23): John Andrew, Eric O’Sullivan, Marty Moore, Sam Carter, Kieran Treadwell, Alby Mathewson, Matt Faddes, Matthew Rea.

Is Bill Johnston injured, or has he moved down the pecking order? Thought he did quite well when he played.
